I should give all 5 star for Prestige Inn. Acutally I like to location the best after I stroll on Baker street --- several hotels on trip.com (or ***********) are on Baker street and parking is an issue. Prestige Inn has ample parking, great view to the lake. The only thing is that the rail is close --- 2 trains passing per day and it seems guests are excited on balconies to see the trains!Reception lady is very polite, professional and gave us a free upgrade. Be carefull at booking: a few basic queen room are in half basement(have windows), showing floor B1 on booking page. They don't have air conditioning. Highly recommended this hotel!!! They have Prestige Resort which is 5 mintues walk along the lakeshore, to have pool, restaurants... to enjoy.

This was my first time booking at Prestige Inn Nelson, and it wasn’t a simple reservation - I was booking on behalf of a teammate, with a few specific and complicated requests. Despite that, the team at the hotel went above and beyond to assist every step of the way.

Big shout out to Kayla, Charisse, Sheila, and Christine - each of them was professional, helpful, and extremely responsive. Their support made the whole process smooth and stress-free, which is not always the case with business travel.

The location is fantastic: close to the water, downtown, and supermarkets - perfect for someone on a business schedule needing quick access to essentials. Good rooms, fair pricing, and excellent service make this a great value overall.

Highly recommend Prestige Inn Nelson for any business travel needs, especially if you’re managing bookings for your team. Exceptional service all around.

Clean room, clean bedding, well priced. Loved the first floor with patio. Easy access to parking. Absolutely loved being so close to the train despite it being loud. Both evenings when the train passed, we watched from our patio.

Stayed here two times now. First time I booked the "accessible room" which was not great at all (2021ish?). Small, bed against the wall, and the bathroom was in terrible shape. There was mold in the caulking and was not what I expected for accessible. Extra grab bars into a regular tub, with a fixed shower head maybe 4 ft up. Pretty big surprise and inconvenience for anyone who is wanting to stand to shower.

Second time we stayed (this summer) we booked a regular room. It was ok. Bathroom walls have been cut into/repaired multiple times as evidenced by the cuts in the wallpaper; after 3 or 4 times, maybe its time just to replace the wallpaper on the entire wall so it doesnt look so shabby. Patio is nice but it would be better to have sheers in addition to the provided curtains so you could actually have sunlight come in without losing privacy.

The $10 off in exchange for declined housekeeping is a big scam in my opinion. They made the coupons available for use the day of checkout - at that point, we're leaving Nelson so these coupons are useless. So basically the hotel saves paying it's staff for housekeeping and gets only a small fraction of people going to the other hotel to redeem their coupons at the restaurant. Win/win for them.

The parking lot is pretty tough to get out of with the one way exiting onto the busier of the two streets.

No vending machine or concession was a shock as I've never seen a hotel with absolutely nothing to purchase for drinks.

Staff members I dealt with were friendly and the location itself is pretty convenient.

Overall I think this hotel is pretty overpriced for what you're getting.

180$ for a room in the dark basement, an absolute joke. Don’t book over the phone they won’t give you what you ask for. Parking is also a joke. Bathroom door can’t open all the way with out bashing into the toilet which is fun! Don’t waste your money here, stay at a best western or the adventure hotel. Even the pool is in the other/better prestige inn. Will never be coming back, won’t ever recommend friends or family. If i could give 0 stars i would. So disappointing.

BEWARE!!!!!!!! PET DISCRIMINATION!!!!!!!!! I booked online, called to confirm they take pets, specifically cats, was told yes.... got there to check in and was told dogs only!!!!!!! The front desk lady was nice enough, wasn't her fault, but seriously, don't say you take pets if you only take dogs, say dogs only..... also, did offer to find a hotel that takes cats, but did not offer to get us a hotel for the same price that we were supposed to pay there..... Absolutely unacceptable behavior!!!!! I Do Not recommend this place....

The room was cozy. We had balcony with a lake view.There was a park right behind the hotel with waking paths.Walmart and save on foods are within walking distant. The front desk lady was very helpful and friendly. We will stay here again.. Thank you.

I booked with Prestige Inn on June 2, 2025 for August 2-4, 2025 through Booking.com. 2 months in advance. On July 20, received an email in the app saying hey fyi, this is a room in the basement with no AC. Nowhere in the description was that indicated, and nowhere in the email I received right after booking was that spoken about. Now we are less than two weeks from a long weekend in the middle of summer. Disingenuous marketing/advertisement, unacceptable customer service, and all because they want to sell the original room for a higher price since there is a Jazz festival happening that weekend, and someone booking two months in advance doesn’t help profits. I imagine if it wasn’t so busy in town, we’d be able to keep the room promised originally. Despicable. 0/10 hotel behaviour.
