la notation doit tenir compte du contexte. L'hôtel est bien situé à l'entrée de la ville, facilement accessible, dans un quartier calme. Ce n'est pas "le bord de mer" et l'architecture n'est pas remarquable mais ce n'est pas gênant pour une nuit de passage. Nous nous y sommes arrêtés en allant et en revenant de Fort Smith et à chaque fois : accueil agréable, service simple mais chaleureux, propreté des chambres par ailleurs sans caractère particulier. Côté pratique, l'hôtel dispose d'un restaurant : la salle est très sombre car sans fenêtres, les peintures pseudo-parisiennes nous ont amusés, ce n'est pas de la fine cuisine mais la soirée "pâtes" permet de trouver son bonheur.

Paying for my pickup order, took the two guys forever to get off the office chair and get payment. As he was walking away, he said what sounded like my name and a few words in his native tongue which the other guy got a chuckle out of....upon his return i asked what the joke was and he said he was talking about "sam" which i didnt hear in his sentence, the entire time he had a massive grin on his face.....now, he may have been talking about me or he may have been talking about something else. Thing is, his buddy got a chuckle then instead of seeming concerned with my inquiry, he started grinning. Last i checked, english and french were our only two national languages. That being said, it could have been alot more clear if he had stuck to speaking english instead of switching to a language i clearly wouldn't understand. Professionalism lacking

Room were tiny bathroom door barely opened and closed the phone wasn't even plugged in and the lines where dead and the beds don't even get me started on the beds... the food was pretty good the only reason it gets 3 stars i was gonna get 2 stars but the fish said otherwise

Located in the heart of Hay River, the Ptarmigan Inn is a very good place to stay. Very convenient. It has Keys Restaurant, The Doghouse, gym, barber shop, there is a bank also in the same building.
Big supermarket just across the street.
The staff is amazing, great service.
You can't go wrong staying at the Ptarmigan.

We had breakfast there and were very impressed with the service and the food - our coffee cups were never empty, the hashbrowns were perfect, our over easy eggs were as they should be, and the French toast was thick slices with fresh berries.

We weren't staying at the hotel but their restaurant hours were nice with such limited food options in Hay River!

Totally overpriced for a hotel that is very dated, unkept and messy (front desk and public areas). Rooms are a good size but it is ironic in our king size room where the bed is permanently 10" from the outside wall and super difficult to get in on that side thanks to a large room air conditioning system installed, probably retrofitted after bed furniture was designed. Part of the problem is the headboard is a permanent fixture on the wall, so that bed can't move without moving the headboard and repainting ... but it has no doubt been many years since that new air/heating unit was installed so it should have been rectified not to expect 2 guests to only use one side of the bed. Additionally, that air/heating unit didn't work properly with the idiot lights not working to indicate mode and temperature ... so one had to guess whether in cool or heat mode and what is the temperature setting.||||To make matters worse, the satellite remote control would only change channels up or down one at a time, but all other buttons wouldn't function, including TV Guide and volume. So what a pain, only moving one channel at a time among 700+ channels (at least half aren't subscribed). Could only use the volume + or - on the side of the TV as well as the power on/off.||||The unit had a fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee machine and good size work desk with NO power outlets nearby. Only tiny soap available (bring your own). Very dated and worn out furniture no past "best before" date.||||The best part of the visit was the delicious food served at Keys restaurant for dinner ... quite a nice surprise. Otherwise, totally overpriced and only worth half their room rates until they refurb the rooms and public areas.
