It’s hard to quantify my review for this park in the star rating. It has some of the best equipment for the kids but it is also a bit neglected and I always check for needles and such before letting the kids play. It has so much potential it just needs a little TLC. If everyone did their part this park would be a 5. Unfortunately the Sarnia methheads and H users drop it to a 3.

Edit 2024: Park is now a homeless encampment, so much for the needed TLC.

I was in Sarnia for the weekend and we decided to visit some of the local parks. Unfortunately, Rainbow Park appears to be some sort of homeless (sorry - unhoused) camp in Sarnia. There was no way I was going to let my children play on the playground equipment as there were obvious signs of drug use. Additionally, there were several police cars and ambulances onsite while we were there. To be honest, I felt quite sorry for the homeowners close to the park as I assume they have all sorts of issues related to the park being used as a Lambton County homeless shelter.

With the new "tent city" popping up and the city not doing anything, plus the police department not doing their jobs and passing off liability to the city. It's a big back and forth, and it seems like nobody who works for the municipality knows what to do about it, or is too scared to make a concrete decision. This place is no longer clean, safe, or friendly in any way shape or for. A lot of drug addicts, I have found more needles, stolen items and paraphernalia than I care to admit or am comfortable with. A big thank you to the municipality and the local PD for doing the bare minimum to sort out this situation.

This is a false advertisement for Rainbow Park. The beautiful park is now full of over 59 homeless tents and full of addicts and thief’s. Please google it before you make a decision to visit it. The entire city is in chaos from the homeless and addicts taking over all parks and behind buildings

This is a waterfront campground, affordable pricing, lcated directly beside a public park. That is where the good stops. The permanent inhabitants are thieves and known to be violent. Serious addiction issues are rampant as well.
CAUTION to anyone that wishes to camp here, ambulance and police are a daily visitors.

Not exactly the cleanest park. City workers don't even bother picking up the trash, they just run it over with the mower. I found 3 syringe wrappers but couldn't find any needles. Don't let your kids play in the bushes. View of the water is nice though

I call this place ancient. There's a lot of history here that hasn't been written or shared about. I like to call it the Pyramids of Sarnia. Beautiful views.
