Draft review?

Our recent experience with @Ransom’s Lunenburg Retreat zodiac tours was nothing short of unforgettable, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, Jason and Deb, the owners and operators and Jason’s parents made us feel welcome and immediately set the tone for what turned out to be a perfect maritime adventure.

What struck us right away was the depth of knowledge and passion both Jason and Deb bring to every aspect of their tours. Their expertise isn’t just limited to pointing out sights along the way – they’ve clearly spent years researching the rich natural and geological history of the region. Listening to them speak about everything from the depths of the surrounding ocean waters to the mile-high glaciers that once covered the area 13,000 years ago was like taking part in a living documentary. Their ability to weave scientific insight with engaging storytelling kept everyone on board captivated throughout the trip.

Of course, the highlight of any zodiac tour is the wildlife, and we were not disappointed. We were treated to the unforgettable sight of seals basking on the rocks, their sleek bodies glistening in the sunlight as they curiously watched us float by. Overhead, a bald eagle soared with majestic grace, and Jason and Deb helped us spot smaller birds and marine life that we might have otherwise missed. Each moment felt carefully guided, yet natural – as though Jason and Deb had a sixth sense for knowing just where to look and when.

The aquatic life we encountered was nothing short of incredible. From schools of shimmering fish darting through the water to the intricate details of kelp beds swaying with the current, every turn of the zodiac brought something new and exciting. Jason and Deb have a way of helping you see not just the obvious, but the hidden wonders of the ocean environment. It’s clear they take pride in sharing the beauty and fragility of this ecosystem, encouraging their guests to appreciate and respect it.

Beyond the sights and sounds of nature, what truly sets Ransom’s Lunenburg Retreat Zodiac Tours apart is the personal touch. Jason and Deb are not only skilled guides but also warm, genuine hosts. Their love for the area shines through in every interaction, and they go out of their way to make sure everyone feels comfortable, safe, and engaged. Whether it was offering historical context about Lunenburg’s seafaring past or answering questions about marine biology, they had a thoughtful and enthusiastic response every time.

By the end of the tour, we felt like we had not just gone on a boat ride, but embarked on a journey that connected us to both the ancient and living history of the region. It’s rare to find an experience that blends education, adventure, and pure joy so seamlessly, but Jason and Deb have created exactly that.

If you’re visiting Lunenburg and want to see the area from a truly unique perspective, don’t miss the chance to join Ransom’s Lunenburg Retreat. You’ll come away with memories that last a lifetime – and a newfound appreciation for the breathtaking natural beauty of Nova Scotia’s coast.

We had a fantastic time out on the water with Jason as our guide! He took us out to see various islands and provided plenty of information on the area and the local wildlife. Very friendly and most hospitable at the end of the trip when we were welcomed back to shore with drinks and snacks and a chat by the outdoor fireplace. Highly recommend!
