The room was clean and the bedding was crisp and smelled fresh. The Mattress was very springy and firm. only 2 pillows. Towels were clean and nice. Building was built in 1911 so keep this in mind. Floors are extremely unlevel and slanted to the middle and there no elevator or air conditioning in some rooms. Charming and loaded with history. The rate was a bit steep at 147. We had a small dog with us that was an extra 25. We initially booked on Booking.com pay when you get there and the rate was 162.00 including the pet fee but it was more when we went. He said he gave us free upgrade to queen but maybe the extra charge was for the queen instead of the double. Owner was helpful and enthusiastic.

We made a very last-minute booking at the Rodmay (literally called while driving into town late one night) and our room was ready when we got there. We had a baby with us and the staff were so kind, friendly, and accommodating. I enjoyed going through all the historic photos in the lobby to learn about its historical significance to Powell River. The hotel is old and could use some TLC but it is very clean. We would definitely stay here again!

Decent budget hotel in a historic building. Loved the antiques and photos in the lobby, it adds a really unique and special feel to the place. The rooms were extremely basic (what do you expect from a budget hotel though). My only issues with the rooms is that ours was extremely slanted. Like I had to actively fight not rolling on to my partner in the night. There were also no screens on the window so we had to choose between sweating to death or being eaten by mosquitoes.

Showers weren’t super clean and there wasn’t any hotel toiletries so bring your own!

A group of four of us were in town for a softball tournament, we had originally booked at another hotel and after having the worst experience checking in to absolute filth , we walked to the Rodmay and explained our situation. The town was literally sold out due to the blackberry festival and tournament going on , The Rodmay was also fully booked but the way they handled the problem and accommodated us and made us comfortable in a room that was still under construction was hospitality to its finest. In under an hour they had us all set up and we had a safe clean space to stay for the weekend .Thank you ! I have travelled the world and stayed in many 5 star hotels , but the hospitality and friendliness we experienced here really made this a 5star experience. Thank you again !!!

This is a very nice heritage hotel with it's great history. Antique furnitures, displays, decorations, and pictures on hallway walls tell the historical stories. We went in as a big group, so we were given the entire dinning hall for our own to use. All the staffs were very nice and helpful. We were even offered self-fished sea fish to enjoy on the first night of our arrival. Though the hotel equipments have their ages, the rooms are very clean and have all the necessaries. There is even a tiny old style barber shop right in the hotel. We all love this cozy and old time experience!
