My first visit in February 2024 was a disaster. The whole building smelled of day-old beer, especially in the stairways. There was dust everywhere. There was hardly any staff at the rink. It was awful. Me and my friend had to leave early, it was that bad. (Certainly didn't help that we had traveled over an hour by bus from Calgary to get there)

My second visit in November 2024 went much better. The smell was gone, and there was a little more staff there, which greatly improved the experience. But I still cannot give this place a good score based on all of the glaring flaws it has.

The public skate from 2:30-3:30 was done at 3:25 by the attendant ringing the buzzer. There were adults in running shoes with no skates or helmets on during the public skate and the arena is dirty. Genesis place is much better managed. No music on during the skate either. 👎🏻👎🏻

Smells horrible throughout the whole facility. Even in the restaurant smells. There is also a thick layer of dust on everything. I had to leave the Thunder game after just the first period because the smell and dust was so bad.

I attended my first ever hockey game at this arena, so appalled by the “security” in the red jackets. They were using provocative language towards the players on the ice, yelling at one another. And continuously kicked the boards of the arena. Then further continued to yell at paying community members about kicking the boards. Not satisfied.

Nice facility that does its job well; concession on the main floor and lounge upstairs. Blue ice is the best - you can really get the tunes pumpin' on Blue.
