Il y avait tellement à voir: nous avons vu plusieurs baleines à bosse de près (et Matt a été en mesure d'expliquer leur comportement), un groupe de lions de mer, une poignée de phoques, un aigle tête blanche. L'horaires de la visite étaient parfaits car nous avons pu assister à un coucher de soleil spectaculaire sur les montagnes de l'île de Vancouver. Merci Matt

This was a fantastic experience — highly recommended! Everything was great from start to finish. Matt was a very charming host and guide. The boat was high quality, really well-maintained, powerful and clean. Matt was knowledgeable, thoughtful and funny. There was tonnes to see: we saw several humpbacks close up (and Matt was able to explain their behaviour), a gang of sea lions, a bunch of seals, a bald eagle. The timing of the tour was great as we got to witness a spectacular sunset over the mountains on Vancouver Island. Thanks Matt!

My partner and I were eager to book a tour with Rugged Coast during our short trip to Powell River, and we are so happy we did because it was a once in a lifetime experience. The night we went the water was super calm and we were lucky enough to see dozens of whales and sealions as well as a beautiful sunset. Our guide was very knowledgable and kind and we loved seeing his passion for what he did. Can't recommend enough!!!

I've spent 533 in this incredible town but my absolute favourite day in my time here (and top 5 of my entire life) has easily been the day i witnessed the whales. All this to say, if you're looking to infuse a mega dose of awe and treating yourself to a special experience, you must go out with Matt @ruggedcoastexpeditions. His knowledge on the history of the indigenous people, whale behaviour, and the land we live in is absolutely wild. Keen observers should note that my zoomed in crappy photos will never capture these humbling moments.

A great sunset adventure into the Salish Sea. Well-spoken guide who knows his stuff. The boat ride was comfortable, safe & well-appointed (which was an initial concern while booking, as a 70+ relative was joining us — but she enjoyed it all).
Just being on the water was beautiful, but we also saw many creatures enjoying their ocean habitat. The water happened to be like glass, but with the guide’s awareness and provisions I’m sure even the splashy days are perfect too.
A highly recommended activity to best experience the full beauty of the PR coast. All around a very memorable excursion.

A fantastic experience, Matt showed us a huge amount of wildlife, including orcas, humpbacks, eagle and sea lions. Felt very safe on the boat and the gear he provided for us was great. We really appreciated how he set the scene of where we were going around and would highly recommend this tour to anyone in the area!

Truly impressive and magnificent tour we had last night. Spotted whales, sea lions, bald eagle, and birds with resembled cormorants (in NL).
Our tour guide Matt, was everything you'd expect and want a guide to be: passionate and respectful about sea life, knowledgeable on history, geography and an excellent boat driver.
Recemmend this tour wholeheartedly!

What an incredible experience! It is a must do in Powell River. A beautiful boat ride guided by Matt who is so knowledgeable about the history. So many whales all around us, if you’re thinking about it, book it! Can’t wait to go again. Thank you Matt 🙂
