Our family just finished 4 very enjoyable and relaxing nights at this hotel. ||On arrival to a large and spacious lobby with an elegant feel throughout, a room that was well appointed, quiet and warm (it was cold outside). I appreciated the iconic pictures of local Edmonton landmarks and prairie scenery. ||The pool and waterslide was fantastic with my son enjoying hours of play. Water temperature was good and a hot tub for me to relax in. ||Dinner and breakfast in Chop restaurant was excellent with friendly service. Recommend reservations on Friday and Saturday nights as it was very popular. ||Throughout the stay, the front desk and housekeeping staff was friendly and welcoming. The property is clean and well maintained throughout. ||Highly recommended.

It’s the lack of cleanliness for me.
Everything was so dirty the floors, baseboards, I had to clean the kitchen, before I could use the kitchen, there was no toaster which was fine but kinda sucked. The kitchen ware needs a major upgrade, the towels were crunchy feeling and had holes in it, their was no free breakfast (which it was so filthy in the room I wouldn’t have wanted free breakfast), the coffee stuff had spills and stains all over it (like the coffee creamer, the packet of coffee additives and utensils) was stained, the shower was lime scaled, this place has a lot of potential maybe some re-training and some refreshers on the housecleaning standards should be updated with staff because they say for you to clean up after yourself and all of that which yes I understand I can do my own dishes and tidy things up and stuff before I go but if I’m doing that, then what do the maids do ? Because I’m not seeing a whole lot.

It was our first visit, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The receptionists were friendly, the pool was a good size, and our room was wonderful. For dinner, Chops Resto is conveniently connected to the hotel. Thank you, Sarah, for your excellent service. We highly recommend this hotel.

This was a wonderful hotel to stay at! I loved the atmosphere and just all the interior in general. My room was always clean including the bathroom. Staff was super friendly and warm and I really enjoyed the coffee/hot chocolate bar they had at the lobby. I could make my own cup of cocoa and took lots of advantage of that. I just wish they had a breakfast buffet instead of a connected restaurant to eat at. My family and I decided to eat breakfast elsewhere because of the limited options on the menu they had at the Chophouse. Parking is usually available and the hotel in general is a pretty chill quiet place.

I stayed at the Sandman with 2 adults, 1 child and 1 dog. The service and front staff were amazing, kind and helpful. The room was clean. A couple things that I feel could improve the room are, I think pet friendly rooms should have flooring and no carpet. The carpet felt a bit dirty. The other thing is that the bathroom door is a sliding barn style door and is awful. When you walk past the door you can see in the bathroom. We had to warn each other if we were going to shower, to stay away from the door.
The pool area is nice and clean. But strange and busy having to walk past the restaurant to get to the pool though.
Of course would be nice to have a complimentary breakfast.
Wifi wasn’t great.
We would definitely stay here again if needed.

Stayed here for about a month and a half and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were always cleaned on time, and the cleaning staff did a great job keeping everything neat. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming, especially the front desk team, who helped me with any questions I had. I felt well taken care of, and the manager, Mark, was also very supportive and approachable. Overall, I had a great stay and look forward to coming back in the future.

We recently stayed in a standard 1 bedroom king suite with a kitchen. While it was smaller than similar suites we've stayed in, the room looked modern and nice. The shower was very nice, and the room also had a soaker tub (which we didn't use) and a single sink vanity with standard room for toiletries.

However, we had some concerns with our room. There were brown stains on the bedspread, and the floor seemed dirty—it left the towel looking like it was dragged through a dirt pile. Additionally, the heater in the living area wasn't working.

On the second day of our stay, we brought these issues to the attention of the front desk. We requested the floor be washed, the bedspread replaced, and the heater checked. I’m happy to report that the staff were excellent in addressing our concerns. They took care of everything while we were out for the day.

Although we were not looking for a discount, the hotel generously offered us 20% off our first night as a gesture of goodwill.

Overall, the cleanliness and upkeep of the room could have been better, but the front desk staff went above and beyond to resolve our issues.

We took a family trip here recently mainly because of the pool and they had a suite room setup, meaning there was a separate bedroom from the main area/pullout couch.

The hotel was decent value and the suite included a kitchenette. No free breakfast, unfortunately. Although the coffee machine was barely larger than a pop can, it made pretty decent coffee. The pool was great and surprisingly quiet for the weekend. The waterslide was perfect for the kids and the hot tub was pretty big.

Now for the negatives. The beds were unbelievably uncomfortable. My wife and I are not large people, but the bed sags to the point that it’s uncomfortable to sleep on your side and impossible to sleep on your stomach. The view is of parking lots with lots of super bright lights and the blinds only cut that down a little bit. So the result is feeling like you’re sleeping when the sun is up. Ceilings do not dampen sound and we heard stomping and doors closing throughout the night. And finally, the bathroom door is not actually a door or anything that locks. It’s a floating sliding panel that leaves a large gap, can be pulled outwards, and again, doesn’t lock. So if you are staying here with kids and want to use the “private 4-piece bathroom” with privacy, good luck. At least the lobby has a bathroom with a locking door!

Probably won’t come back, which is too bad considering it’s one of the few affordable hotels with multi-room suites and a pool.
