I own several savage high power rifles (4) - all mostly awesome. The savage .22 model 64 semi auto is an absolutely lemon. My son saved up and I bought him one. First magazine full through it the action jams open. Then I send it off to mfg since Cabelas wouldn’t look at it. They say it’s fine and send it back. Follow up - at least a dozen times. Crickets. I know the issue / the extractor slightly short. Gun nearly 2 years old now. Hardly been shot. Zero service. I’ll find a machinest to make a better extractor. Unreal lemon.

Beyond impressed with the service I received with the savage warranty center. I had a snapped optic rail screw. Mathew fixed my issue very quick and free of charge. This was my only savage made rifle but now I want to purchase another just to support there company. I have had much worse warranty experiences with other companies that charge alot more for there firearms.

I bought 1 gun and will NEVER use another Savage product. This company has incompetent employees. I just want to get the part so I can sell it.

I bought a $1300 gun. It broke the second time using it.
I've waited 8 weeks to use it and counting! I even gave them the serial number. When I called to inquire at week 4 Ashley let me know they were " waiting for a truck to go to Canada". UNBELIEVABLE. YOU CAN'T SHIP ME A TINY PART!? Then, when I received it. Wrong. Now I'm into week 3 or so of waiting again. For " a truck to go to Canada". For a canadian made gun?!? It's unbelievable. I have even had the retailer i purchased it from reach out. They are excellent, or I'd just take the money back through visa. Stay away from any Savage product. They clearly aren't canadian as advertised. No customer service whatsoever.

What happened to the Savage Arms of old? I bought a new 110lrh in 338 lapua. I received what we all considered to be a heavily used rifle (see pictures) with metal fouling the chamber. I packaged it all back up and we sent back to savage as per instructions my gun dealer received from Savage Customer Service. Over 3 months later, and at least 4 checkin calls from ME, I received a rebarelled rifle and magazine minus all the adjustment risers and spacers, book and trigger adjustment tool. I was sent a 110 accessory kit that has just some risers, spacers and screws. No trigger adjustment tool and no manual. I called and complained and was told that they are not mind readers, if I wanted the book and adjustment tool I should have told her. Hmmm, I said all I received was the gun and magazine back, shouldnt they know what else I should get? I was told they would have a manager call me, still no call. Chronic wait times on the phone, so long that you actually get automatically kicked off the call. I just bought the last Savage I will ever own. Savage, IMHO, has a lot of service and quality problems to overcome. They seem to be circling the drain, once again IMHO. Good luck Savage, you have lost a former lifelong customer.

Bought a 110 high country from Cabela's that had been played with a bunch and the magazines tab was buggered. I emailed Savage and they sent me a new one in the mail. Can't ask for better service than that!
Thank you Savage

If I could leave them a 0/5 I would ! Its almost a year and still no part sent under Warranty ! I Purchased the Steven's 320 Turkey 12 gauge shotgun on special during Christmas for myself from Cabela's Canada Dec 28 2022 . I didn't fire it until late spring , after twice on the range it wouldn't eject . I reached out to them in early July , to make this a short story . I have sent numerous emails and have received the same one over and over (Please confirm your address ) We are in Nov 23 2023 and still no parts and my Warranty expires Dec 28 2023. WORST GUN COMPANY to Deal With ! I have tried calling numerous times ( all summer long ) I'm told through a recording that they are very busy and to contact them by email , I got the same message just a little while ago . What good is an email when they get back to you in weeks or months ..
SAVAGE I'M STILL WAITING , Whats it going to take to complete this Warranty transaction ? Review will change if I receive my warranty parts ...

FOLLOW UP !! January 6 2024
I finally received 1 repair kit early December 2023 which made me happy but it also came close to the warranty expiration date .
Then I received a 2nd kit just before Christmas which made me even happier .... So Lets just note this review , That I originally had given a 1 STAR and now I will change it to 4 Stars .
Thank you Savage , remember that without your customers you are nothing , so in the future rush to service us or you will lose !

Have to review Savage. After a few attempts to get a part shipped out to me within the online messaging service I was advised to call Lakefield. I had a conversation with a fella by the name of Owen. I explained to him the issues I was having with the wrong parts being sent out. Owen went above and beyond to fix this issue and sent me the part I needed. And just to make sure I got the right part he sent me every stock assemble stud on the rifle. This is how customer service should be, very polite and helpful and most importantly he took control of the situation and made it right the first time he dealt with it. Thank you Owen.

So far, my experience with Savage is not positive. My Model 64 .22 came with nearly every bolt and retaining pin loose. Even the barrel nut was loose!

I've learned now to thoroughly check everything after any purchase.

I contacted Savage customer service by phone and have not received the spare parts I've ordered since March/April 2024 (Jan 2025 now).

I chose Savage to support Canadian, and in hopes that warranty issues could be resolved quickly. Now, my emails aren't being replied to, and I can't get through on the phone. Waiting 10mins on hold, then to be disconnected, is disappointing.

I'll be choosing other brands moving forward.

I would have chosen a Tika or CZ knowing customer support is pretty much non-existent.

At least it was just a .22 and not a centrefire bolt action.

Live and learn.
