Stopped here randomly for some full-RV hookup needs. Very kind and welcoming owner!! Very proud of his potable, city-tested water 🙂 We tried another spot down the road (Pine Springs) and they were not nearly as friendly. Thanks again!

First let me say the temporary people running the place were great. Very friendly . First we were stranded because the kootenay pass was closed. Snow covered treacherous roads made it a good decision to stay...so we thought. Trail was booked up because of a hockey tournament. And the ferry was a hour and a half drive on bad roads. Now... let's talk about the room. First upon opening the door we were greeted with the aroma of mildew mixed with nil odor and moth balls. The 1960s motive was untouched and bathroom had tears in the lino matched with rotting exposed sub floor. The fire extinguisher was expired and due for service in 1990. Yes 1990. There were dairy queen cupcakes from 2015 in the freezer ... I guess not bad for being three years old. My kids enjoyed finding what looked like the remnants of a dime bag of coke in the drawer. All in all it was a place to lay your head... on pillows that probably seen the moon landing and should have gone with the shuttle. It was quiet and I couldn't wait for the morning to come. Not sure about the shower as I am not sure of my last tetanus shot date. Drive to Nelson or back to castlegar. Or like i said stay in your car.

Very pleasant check in, lots of on site help when we arrived in the dark to point our site out and connections for our motorhome. Also very friendly staff next day, lots of info about area, close to Trail , Nelson and really a beautiful special area. Campground is quiet and pet friendly, right next to a forestry road with miles of access to rivers and wilderness. Salmo is minutes away with all services. Would definitely stay here again.

It was the first place I ran into after an exhausting drive in snowy weather. ( DEC 23 ) . The parking lot was about a third full but those vehicles are just staged there to give the illusion of a busy establishment. The check in host was very nice and seemed surprised to have a guest. The room was very compact to say the least.|| If you're going to charge me full freight ($90) for a nights sleep the last thing i want to find when I pull back the covers is a wolf spider the size of my thumb scurrying across the pillows. I'm guessing these rooms haven't seen activity since late fall and critters are trying to find warmth. After hunting and murdering the eight legged beastie I ended up stripping the bed & spent most of the evening tossing and turning wondering how many more spiders were in the room.

We ended up here for 2 nights. It was VERY hot & the room has no air conditioning. The bedding was clean but the beds must have been ancient. My head was lower than my feet! The tv was very poor & could barely hear it . Another every old motel where you get what you pay for . The highway is also very close & loud

Acceptabke rates. Nice place. Caretakers are always pleasant . (A nearby accommodation has terribly rude caretakers) Cable, internet , good coffee and hot chocolate . And a quiet area. Always a pleasant visit

Reasonably priced, beautiful spot and the most charming and personable hosts you can imagine. Not too many places like this out there...will definitely make this a regular stop.
