My elderly dad fell. Waited 12 hours in emergency, told he didn’t have a break in his hand. Swelling and bruising were bad, we took him to dr a couple days later, had to wait a week til swelling came down for new X-ray, and yes there is a broken bone in his hand. They really don’t know how mange patients. Nurses were great though

Right from the first step into Selkirk Hospital, I have never seen such a clean facility that enhanced my “First Experience”
I had knee surgery May 6/25, what a wonderful experience, right from when I checked in to when I was released. The nurses within were excellent (Sorry I couldn’t remember their names), right from the ward clerk that assisted with the spinal block, the nurse that began with my vitals, and the numerous other nurses were excellent. I was talked to the preop nurses, the anaesthetist, she was great and friendly, Dr Turgeon and his team met with me prior and after, this all took me from a little tense to assurance ! Dr Turgeon found time to visit me in therapy, this is professionalism, Great bedside manner!
The after surgery therapy team were marvelous, this was a Great Experience, I would not want to go to a hospital again BUT, Selkirk would be my first choice, Thank-You!

This hospital serves a large, busy area and does a good job of taking care of their patients. The lab/diagnostic screening areas are well staffed, clean and the patients are treated kindly and with respect. There is ample SAFE parking, and the entire facility is well maintained.

I had an appt. for a CT scan. I told them I was allergic to contrast dye. The technician came out to talk to me & I told her I had broken out in hives during the I.V. administration of contrast dye. This had occurred 20 years prior. She assured me that because the dye was oral & was not absorbed by the body I would be 100% fine! I made her promise & she did. About 30 mins. later they took me to just outside the scanner. My 1st symptom was chills & I was freezing cold so they covered me with sheets from the warmer oven.
The chills became so severe it was like I was having convulsions!! Stupidly I was thinking it was just really cold! They took my BP & it was 225/125! Emergency dept. was right there & a nurse came & started an IV with a bag of benadryl. Within 15 min. approximately my chills subsided , BP was down but still not normal, & I had my scan. They made me wait for 1 hour before I could go.
The very VERY worst thing is they NEVER SAID A WORD about my allergic reaction! Not ONE SINGLE WORD! I didn't care so much about the "sorry we should have listened to you" but how about "WEAR A MEDIC ALERT BRACELET cause you're VERY ALLERGIC TO CONTRAST DYE, BOTH INJECTABLE & ORALLY.!!!!! No, not a peep about ANYTHING!! The word never came out of anyone's mouth!" That was the worst part of all!

We were up fishing and my brother thought he was having a heart attack so I brought him here, kudos to all that helped from the security to the nurses, administrators and Dr's did not mess around, found out his insurance covered him in Canada and they took such good care of him and when we got back home he lives in Wisconsin all the Dr's were grateful for how much testing and reports they sent back thankfully it was a bad case of vertigo and high blood pressure, Thank you all who helped us your health care is top notch as far as we are concerned, Thank you all❤️

Have had to visit Selkirk Health Centre a number of times over the last week, including the emergency department. Nothing but good things to say about the staff and facility. Like all medical centres, the staff are overworked, but they truly care. Shoutout to the emerg and outpatient staff. You guys are awesome. Nice facility and never have to wait long. Thanks for all you guys do. We come in from Winnipeg because of the exceptional care.

Always happy with my treatment here. All staff are way more friendly and caring here than in the city hospitals. I’m so lucky to live in west St. Paul now.
