Had a great time on our tour with Sarah! She was welcoming from the start, even before she found out she was our guide for the tour, and handled everything with ease even on her first season as a guide. The unlimited hot drinks before and after (tea, coffee, hot chocolate) was also lovely. I appreciated that there were facilities to rinse off with warm water. The outing was well designed with little bits of information and history as we went up the river, a pause at the sandbar to swim and float around, and different areas planned to get hit by waves as we went down the river once the tide came in. Ending off with mud sliding was also fun. If you go, ask for Sarah - contrary to the rumors she does not fall out of the boat!

Everything about this experience was excellent. Nice cabin, great equipment, very kind and helpful folks. A special mention to Mike, our rafting guide. He knew the River like we know our neighborhood and had lots of interesting info to share. We were a group of our 10 year old granddaughter, wearing a cast on her broken hand and two 70+ seniors. Mike tailored the ride to be loads of fun, getting wet and wild enough to keep our granddaughter very happy while keeping us all safe! He was also very gracious about hauling this old lady back into the raft. We stopped to swim when the waves settled a bit and finished with sliding down a mud embankment into the water! You will never regret taking this trip- happy memories for a lifetime ! Thanks😊

We visited for the 2 1/2 hr raft adventure.
We had an incredibly exhilarating and fun time. The waves were high, "extreme", but our guide, Troy, was constantly checking in on how we were doing and quick to jump to offer assistance when needed. He really took advantage of our time together to share cultural information and as much wave playtime as possible! We laughed and laughed and gulped down a fair amount of river water. The nice wetsuits kept us warm.
We wore Teva sandals but next time would opt for old tennis shoes as I think it would have made it easier for climbing up the mud hill for slipping and sliding into the river. Still a blast! Full disclosure...we are an older couple 60+ and 70 and not in best shape, pretty achy next day due to efforts to ride the extreme waves and stay in boat, so next time would choose mid-level tide. We scheduled our rafting when we were in town so didn't have that choice.
Thanks to everyone at the resort for your warmth and welcome!

Booked the two hour rafting end of May. Some of my group were worried since it was a more intense day, some of us can't swim, or scared of cold; but they were very responsive in replying to our concerns. They give you clean sleeveless wetsuits (sizes run small) and optional rain jacket and pants (definitely at least take the jacket this time of year). It was around fifteen degrees that day and raining, but that only added to the fun. It was our first time wearing wetsuits, it's weird you can feel the water and the cold but you're not actually cold. We were also given mandatory helmets and lifejackets. We all felt very safe.

On the boat there's a go pro taking short clips and a camera person in another boat that goes around taking pictures (these cost extra at the end if you want to buy, I say it's worth it). We did some mud sliding to end the tour!

We had booked as 8 people (the max for a boat), so we had the whole boat to ourselves and our guide adjusted the intensity to our preference. The guides are great they clearly respect indigenous culture and gave some history on the river. They answered some of our silly questions and were great to talk to. Every staff member seemed like they love their job because everybody was so nice. I had booked this well in advance and mentioned it was my birthday and they remembered that!

Overall this will be the place I'm recommending to people. If you're reading this review in the future and it's cold, book anyway, you'll be fine! Though I do hope to come again in the summer to see what it's like without all the layers. Again safety is important to me that's why I think this place is great. I hope the staff members know how awesome they are!

The tidal bore rafting was such an awesome experience! We had so much fun! Didn't really know what to expect beforehand but Troy was amazing to find us the biggest waves and splashes! We loved floating by the sandbar and getting muddy in the mudslides at the end, too. We were also intrigued to learn about the Mi'kmaq people. The coffee and hot chocolate afterwards was a nice treat. Thank you so much!

We had a fantastic family experience with Shubenacadie Tidal Bore Rafting Resort!
We visited as a family of 5, kids aged 10, 12 & 15, in late May. They equipped us with wet suits and rain suits, PFDs and helmets. We signed up for the 4 hour tour.
Our boat captain, Jacob, was amazing. He was clearly very experienced. I enjoyed hearing historical facts of the area on the ride out to meet the bore.
Hitting the waves was an absolute thrill and the laughs were non-stop!
There was a 2nd safety-watch boat in the water with us, and when my 10yo needed a break from the cold waves, he and I were able to transfer to it while the rest of the fam stayed in the waves.
We loved the trip! I especially appreciated the care and attention we received to ensure we had the best possible experience. We will be booking again!

This place is too good to true. It looks fine… from the outside.
I haven’t even slept yet because the beds have rat shit on them, we had to deal with a mouse. And a wasp. I don’t feel like the shower tub are dirty so I don’t feel like showering because it might be cleaner if I don’t. Always the reviews. I won’t not recommend. The owner is neglecting the property. If you scroll back and check reviews you can see they’ve had these issue for years and clearly haven’t done anything. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎🤢🤢🤢🤢
