I had an appointment booked in for 2-3 weeks in advance. Spoke to a guy when I called to book and he acknowledged I was driving from Revelstoke and told me to bring it in a couple weeks later on a specific date, at a specific time. I had it booked it in for all 4 pad and rotor change. I gave my VIN number when I phoned up to book. About 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment, over the phone, the same guy that I booked with told me that he didn't have the rotors in. He had about 2/3 weeks to get them in from the day I booked but obviously hadn't planned ahead. He assured me he would get the rotors in that day and that it may just take a few hours, so I got the car dropped off to the garage for the pad and rotor change.

Fast forward to the end of the day and they have changed the pads, but not the rotors, because they couldn't get them in on time. They never called to tell me they actually couldn't get the rotors that day and proceeded with the changing the pads without informing me. This was on a Friday afternoon and I had to drive back to revelstoke, binding the new pads to the old rotors. The rotors absolutely needed changing, haven't been changed in 65,000km and have visible wear. He absolutely should not have proceeded with changing the pads without consulting me. I would have happily driven back to revelstoke, and driven back to sicamous, and got them both done in the same appointment, to avoid ruining the new pads.

Really disappointed with my experience. He did tell me I could drive back there and get the rotors done the next week, but by that time there is already going to be damage to my new pads. And I've lost total faith.

They also were quite cheeky telling me I hadn't booked an appointment with them in the first place, which is a lie as I was speaking to the same guy I booked the appointment with and have a call log with the garage to prove it. A call from the day I booked it, a call from the morning before I dropped my car in, plus the man called me and said 'hi hollie' confirming that he absolutely knew who I was.

As a woman, you always look at reviews so you can ensure that you will try and not get ripped off, but still have anxiety about taking your car in because you worry something like this will happy. Your mechanic will go ahead with things that will ultimately cost you more money, or more stress, which could have been totally avoided if there was communication.

If the garage want to resolve this with me individually, I encourage them to do so. I will obviously not be driving back to sicamous and damaging the new pads more than I have to, so I will need to pay even more in labour costs in revelstoke for something that should have been done two birds in one stone.

I hope my long review will help others so they can choose a garage that will forward plan and communicate effectively.

On a ski trip, car started overheating. Called Sicamous Auto and they took a look. Thought is was a was pump but was a faulty wiring connection on the thermostat. Saved me over $1k in parts and labor. Fast, honest shop. Will bring my ride in for a tune up whenever I'm in the area.

These guys are awesome! They installed a Dana 60 upgraded front axle into my older 3/4 ton Super duty to replace the damaged Dana 50. This was far from cookie cutter work and they got it done efficiently and I've been driving the truck for a couple months now and it has been working great. Skilled and easy to deal with, highly recommended!

What else can I say great customer service. Let's face it owning vehicles is expensive but that doesn't mean it is the mechanics fault. Val always explains everything looks at everything in great detail to make sure I understand what the problem is and if I might have a future problem. Vehicle goes in broken comes out fixed. I work out of town so timing is always hard for me they accommodate as much as they can. And they help my wife out when I am not around and have never ripped her or myself off.

Absolutely the best in going beyond expectations! We had vehicle problems on our trip and we were treated to the best customer service at Sicamous Auto. We had to stay over night with a promise that our vehicle would be fixed in the morning as soon as the part came. Val found us a hotel, gave us restaurant reviews, and provided a ride to and from the hotel to the shop. With this type of service, you're sure to be a great success. Thank you, thank you!
