Great experience on the skate trail. It is comparable with the Arrowhead skate trail, and might even be better since there were less people. There are even rest areas here and there, which makes it even better.
You can get a ticket after you get there (provided they are not full). The online website is only for ordering in advance, and it will close when it nears the start time - gave me a scare when I couldn't order any online when I arrived when it opened.
Scenery is very nice, 5* experience!

An absolutely magical experience! Skating on the trail surrounded by fresh snow and winter scenery was breathtaking. The path was well-maintained, and the atmosphere was peaceful and beautiful. A must-visit for anyone who loves winter and outdoor skating!

Absolutely incredible experience at the Simcoe County Museum Skate Trail! This is hands down one of the most beautiful and unique outdoor skating spots I’ve ever visited. The trail winds through a stunning forest, creating a magical, peaceful atmosphere that’s perfect for skaters of all levels. The ice was well-maintained, and there were plenty of areas to stop and take in the scenery. The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. Whether you’re looking for a fun family outing or a serene skate through nature, this is the place to go. Highly recommend it’s a winter gem

Really an amazing museum. One of the best I’ve seen. I just found it hilarious that in the indigenous section it said “the original inhabitants of simcoe county”. I would like for once for museums to acknowledge that they colonized the place and call it by its real name. Land back!

Absolutely wonderful and unexpected experience. This place is filled with history and artifacts. They do have model house, school, church, shop, tailor shop, train station, mechanical worksgoo etc from early 1900 for visitors to experience. Most impressive item was the high number of vintage farming gear they have in the facility. So great to see the community work together to preserve them as volunteers. Well done to everyone !!

This museum is so worth it. You can spend hours here exploring the history of the county. They have both an indoor and outdoor exhibit as well. Staffs were super friendly.

This museum was an unexpected gem... Beautiful displays and so clean. Staff were very informative and friendly. The museum was much bigger than I anticipated... I only had enough time to checkout the indoor displays and it was raining so I didn't look at the outdoor exhibits (I had my baby with me). They use QR codes for more information at many of the displays.... I intend to return and have been raving about this museum to friends so I'll be returning with a group! Highly recommend this place!

Went with my youngest (12) during the truck retrospective. He loves old machines, and watching them working the gravel pit kept him entertained for a long time. We wouldn't have left if he hadn't gotten hungry after 3 hours....and I didn't bring cash for the barbecue they were holding.

All the vehicles they used ate on regular display, but seeing them running was a special experience.

I also had no idea there were Meccano and Erector set clubs in the area. The Lego was a bonus!
