Amazing spot we've gone fishing a few times. Cabins are sufficient but pots and pans could use updating. Campsites are good and have washroom and shower access. Expect a poor driving experience for the last hour and a half of driving here(Road is high traffic and poorly maintained).

Group of 13 went up 1st weekend in June. Walleye and pike were easily caught on anything thrown. Lots of 20" + walleye 40"+ Northern caught. Great camp! Cannot wait to get back

Came for a stay at Slims Cabin after DJing at the school & wow what a stay!! Beautiful, clean, warm and welcoming!! Definitely coming up here in the summer for a personal holiday and a longer stay! 🙂

Treated Poorly by the New Owner Paul
My dad and I along with several friends have been fishing at Hunting and Laurie Lakes for over 40 years. My dad, brother-in-law and nephew (along with 5 other friends) planned to go again this year having reserved Laurie Lake a year ago for the second week in June. The owner called them 2 weeks before their trip and told them that Slim's would not be opening Laurie Lake this year. Extremely unprofessional to not give at least a couple months notice which would have given our party some time to find an alternate place to fish this summer.

I have been going to Slim’s Cabins for over 20 years and there’s no place on earth I would rather be every June. I have been to several outposts and they are all an experience of a lifetime. This part of the world is forever etched into my soul and I will be coming back here as long as I’m able. The accommodations are rustic but everything you need is waiting for you. I would highly recommend a fly-in resort adventure for impressive Walleye, Northern Pile and Lake Trout. If the fishing is slow, the scenery will take your breath away. Even though Jim Woods and his family no longer run the resort, I found my experience with the new staff to be quite stellar. I wish to thank Jim and Sandi for all they’ve done over the decades to make this one of the best places on earth for me, my family and friends. I can’t say enough about this place and whole-heartedly recommend it to everyone.

Amazing river system, fantastic service from owner Jim and director of the boats Kerry. Boat-in cabin Cameron's point had fantastic 180 degree views of water from cabin. Watch the sunset over the water every night. Cabin clean, nice large kitchen, plenty of propane, instant hot water system. Great shower and ample size wash house. Comfy bunk beds, nice large fish cleaning table. Boat dock in great condition. Quiet generator for lights at night. Propane fridge and deep freezer. BBQ in good working order.

Fish were ample and of good size, super fun!

Awesome fishing destination. Well worth the 20 hour drive from Omaha NE. Many fond memories thanks to Mr. Slims and his little slice of heaven in the Great White North.

Wow what a stay. Stayed in cabin 7 which was basic and served our needs but everything was working and couldn't fault anything. Sandy in the office was very helpful on arrival, Making sure we had everything we needed. Then Kerry extremely helpful and patience with us showing us the boats, advising us of good spots to fish and then filleting the fish. The surrounding scenery was stunning and everyone caught something. We are considering making the trip there again from England and bring family with us as well as picking up friends enroute.
