Great location and building. Was a little disappointed there was nothing for breakfast though we saw this in the welcoming e-mail but did have coffee, water and tea. Well decorated with a good amount of space and some beautiful period pieces. Rain kept us inside but side yard looked very nice. Would give it a 4.5 but not quite a 5 star.

Service at this place is horrible. I texted, called and emailed the contact info in the booking prior to my reservation to see if it would be possible to get early check-in since check-in was from 4-6pm, but I had a wedding during that time. No response.
Showed up at the inn around 2pm to see if our room was ready. No one was there. There was another contact number by the front door which I tried calling. Again, no response. The house keeper was in one of the downstairs rooms so I explained the situation to her. I didn't even ask her to check-in, I just asked her what the check-in process would be since I couldn't check-in during the 4-6pm window. She said give me one second and came back and said your room is ready so you can just go on up. We were super grateful and appreciative. 20 mins later we get a knock on our door from a woman who I would assume runs the inn. She was extremely rude and told us check-in was at 4pm and next time not to let ourselves in. We told her the housekeeper said it was okay for us to go to our room since it was ready and she said we left her no choice but to let us in. She rushed down the stairs without letting us explain ourselves and we never saw anyone again during our stay.
Crazy to be in the hospitality industry and not answer any emails or phone calls and be extremely rude to guests and blame them for something that could easily be solved with proper communication.

This was, without question, the worst inn experience we’ve ever had. My spouse compared it to Fawlty Towers—except here there was nothing funny about it.||We arrived a little early, with email permission to park, and tried to let someone know we were there. The only “welcome” was a sign with Tim and Andrea’s phone numbers. After 5 p.m., we both started calling and texting. Tim, the owner, never once responded. Andrea answered but never followed through on her promise to call back. All we were trying to do was let them know we couldn’t make the arbitrary 6 p.m. registration cut-off.||When we arrived 45 minutes after 6, the front door had notes for two other late guests—but not for us. How could there be when they wouldn't respond during registration time? We rang the service bell multiple times, called again, and eventually Tim wandered in. Instead of greeting us, he curtly reminded us that check-in was 4–6 p.m., as if we were misbehaving children. He then escorted us to our 3rd floor room in icy silence.||The room itself was just as bad. He told us we wouldn’t need the air conditioning because it would be “cool outside" as if he was trying to save every penny. One of the single beds was tilted so badly my husband spent the night sliding toward the edge, convinced the bed was trying to push him out.||We left at first light. We could not get out fast enough.||For anyone considering this place: don’t. There is nothing welcoming here, only hostility and neglect. This inn doesn’t just lack hospitality—it seems to resent the very idea of guests. Why be an innkeeper if your guests are such an inconvenience?

Enjoyed our one night stay. Tim, the owner, was very accommodating and the Inn itself has a nice relaxed vibe. The beds were comfortable. Lots of areas outside, including a fire pit, to sit and gather which make this a nice alternative to staying downtown. The location is an easy two block walk to shops and restaurants and the closest theatre is the Avon. Also appreciated the reasonable price.

I could overlook the peeling wallpaper, the chipped bathroom tile and even the mold in the shower (all evidence of slipshod care and zero investment in maintenance), but cannot overlook the single most unpleasant proprietor that I have ever encountered. When I asked if someone would tidy the room, he told me to do it myself. I asked for clean towels over a 3 day stay and never got them. I have been coming to Stratford for 4 decades and never had a more off-putting host. The sour attitude put a damper on what is usually a wonderful vacation. Go to a more hospitable place than this.

We booked this inn based on a previous stay of a friend. Clean, comfortable and unique. As stated, they don’t serve breakfast, but coffee and tea is available all day long. The bed was firm and comfortable. We stayed in the Princess Diana room. The room is decorated accordingly with relevant paraphernalia. Overall, lovely and quaint stay!
