STS Guiding - Mission 1, British Columbia

Three of us went to Mission in early September and had a great day's fishing with Thomas as our guide. We caught six White Sturgeon with a total estimated weight of 715lbs. Best fish pictured below, was 8 feet long, had a girth of 39inches and was estimated at 280lbs and 85 years old. This was the first time that one of our club anglers had caught a fish that weighed more and was older than the angler himself!!

Needless to say we hope to be joining up with Thomas again next year for some more fantastic fishing!

We used STS for a company Team Building Trip! We reserved 2 boats for a sturgeon fishing day! All the guys raved about the experience, everyone caught at lease one fish and had a great time. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable and professional! We also ordered the catered lunches and they were really good! I would definitely recommend STS for your fishing excursions!

where should we start ? Guide, Baits, Locations, service……?

We start with the guide.
I can't remember the name of him (Guiding was at 27 September 2021) but he should rather sell flowers in a garden center or help people at the customer service in walmart than guiding fish trips. Nothing left to say, that man was the worst fishing guide we ever had. (he was one of 4). He just came, was very shy, didn't do any efforts to get one bigger sturgeon... Original comment: "the big ones sleep today". Can't believe he said that. I also do guiding at home, some days are difficult, i know, but as a really good guide you know spots if days are hard to get some good fish.

Locations
We started in Mission, drove upstream and started fishing.
No bites in more than 30 minutes. No efforts for changinng the location. He did it after I asked more than 3 times. Maybe we would be at the same place for 8 hours if i didn‘t ask him.
but he didn‘t go downstream oder upstream, he went 50 yards left to our last spot where we caught nothing in the past 30 minutes.
Other guides drove to other spots where they were succesful in the past weeks and he only drove circles on the same location like for 8 hours….. very unprofessional!!!!!

Baits

If i wasn’t 1000% sure , I booked a White sturgeon Fishing Trip (biggest freshwater fish of North America), It could also be a pike minnow Trip aka. „shitfish“.
Some Baits were smaller than our hooks .. surprise, biggest fish was like 3ft, maybe two and a half.
We didn‘t measure it because it was mortifyingly
Other guides often use fish heads oder 1 Salmon filet.
All in all they use a bait, you could be sure that you rather catch a average sturgeon than babies.

Fish we caught.

Expectations were big, fish were smaller.
We caught 4 Babies ( biggest was maybe 3 ft) but we didn‘t expect bigger ones after we saw the baits and the guiding skill.

Service
Service was good before our trip, that‘s the reason for one star! Otherwise I would rather give ZERO.

All in all
840 CAND absolutely wasted. Couldn‘t be worser.
We came from Germany with big hopes and expectations because we followed social media and wrote a lot with your team, but we only get dissapointed.
A friend of mine works right now at a fishing magazine as a reporter. I told him my experience about this trip, so in case other people from germany who would like to do a fishing trip won‘t get disappointed like my dad and me and book another Guding service.
So much money for nothing..
If i do another fishing trip I won’t book it again with STS.
In Germany there would be definitely a cashback for something like that!
