Easy to book, fantastic tour!

We arrived and had a chance to play with the dogs - who were all amazing and very friendly. After brief instructions (brakes, verbal signals for the dogs), we kick sled with the dogs around Great Slave Lake and then hiked into the ice caves. The tour finished with another, longer kick sled with photo opportunities along the way.

We did this tour privately for our anniversary.

Totally appropriate for beginners and a great family activity. It was a lot of fun. Highly recommend.

We did a 3 person Kayaking tour on Great Slave Lake with Bianca. She was an amazing guide and kept us well informed and entertained during our tour. Beautiful scenery. And Sun Dog Aventures as very accommodating with our group. I would definitely recommend them.

Had lots of fun kicksledding, Richard (the guide) was amazing and so were the dogs! Also went to the ice caves, past Back Bay cemetery, which was a really nice little hike! Definitely recommend 🙂

Sundog Adventures is family owned and operated, small scale, and run with professionalism, intention and care. My partner and I loved getting to know the team (both human and husky!) before the tour. By the time we met our dogs, learned the commands, and had taken a practice ride on the kicksleds, we felt ready to hit the lake! Richard, one of the owners, made sure we were all dressed warmly enough for the weather before we left, and Matt, our guide, was patient, knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around (and a great photographer too!). We loved touring the ice caves and learning about the old cemetery, and sharing stories over a warm drink at the end of the day. Most importantly, they so clearly love their dogs - they're part of the family. Our time with Sundog Adventures was the highlight of our entire trip (breathtaking Northern Lights included!), and we can't wait for our next stay in Yellowknife so we can go back for round 2. Thanks Sundog, you'll be seeing us again soon.

Had an amazing time at Yellowknife with Sundog Adventures. They got the cutest and most friendly dogs that you will love them at first sight. I had a pleasure to ride with two lovely dogs, Shadow and Blue. As a dog lover, I was really happy when I heard one of the dogs was adopted from SPCA. We had lots of fun, and this was literally the highlight of our trip.
