Nous avons été super bien reçu. Une belle expérience de la vie de bateau que je vous conseil de vivre à votre tour. Le déjeuner était très bon et agrémenté du saumon pêché et fumé par le propriétaire.

As the name suggests, you will truly be swept away by how neat this place is. Managed by an absolute delight of a man, Daniel, you are welcomed from the moment you step on board this epic concept for a hotel to the bittersweet moment you have to return to reality. Daniel personally shows you to your bunk (literally, you may get to sleep in bunk beds like sailors at sea), which are well-kept but maintain the authenticity of living the sea life. You will find that other guests that have chosen this fabulous vessel are just as warm and inviting as the host, and if you so choose, you can sit on the deck and enjoy a drink and a chat. You may see seals, you may see eagles, but you will definitely see yourself having a good time. In the morning, Daniel serves a flawless breakfast (pictured) and you can stare out at the boats bobbing in the sparkling summer water. His wife, Bouchra, who is an immensely talented chef that works the phenomenal restaurant up the street, is also an absolute pleasure to be around.

The only thing we did not expect, but in retrospect makes a lot of sense for the space, is the shared bathroom and sometimes warm conditions in the bunk. However, you are welcome to prop your door open into the private deck and enjoy the cool Alberni air at night. Highly recommend to any and all!

I’m so glad we found this place — our one-night stay was a terrific experience in every way. Daniel and Bouchra are excellent, welcoming hosts and our accommodations, while tight (it is on a boat after all), were perfectly comfortable. Bouchra provided a delicious cooked breakfast in the morning where we enjoyed getting to know our fellow guests. The surrounding scenery is nothing short of spectacular, and while the nearby neighborhood doesn’t seem to offer much at first glance, we had two terrific dinners within a few blocks of the pier: one at Little Bavaria and one at Bouchra’s own Brie & Barrel. Highly recommended.

This was an amazing 'win'!
I had the good luck to have a week of roadtripping with my 75-year-old mother and her best friend. I wasn't sure if a boat would be the best fit, as they both have some mobility impairments, but they seemed ready for an ADVENTURE!

Dan and his close family crew were AMAZING. The experience was BETTER THAN AWESOME, and this group gets 5-stars from us all around. The service and support for our needs was excellent. The food was truly spectacular. They spent time to connect with each of us.

The Swept Away crew is clearly good at what they do, and they're in this for the long run. They know how to run this B&B well.

FOOD WAS AWESOME! Communication was prompt. Their booking software is excellent. The stay was exciting! Great memories, amazing photographs. Perfect memories!

We all highly recommend Swept Away.

I loved staying here. It has everything you'd expect from a good hotel--clean, quiet, efficient, thoughtful touches in terms of decor and amenities--but what makes it so wonderful is what a one-of-a-kind experience it is. You get to sleep on a boat--not a cruise ship boat, but what was once an actual working boat--that's been lovingly restored to retain as much of the character of the boat as possible and is moored at a wharf in a great location. Your hosts--Daniel and Bouchra--are warm, funny, knowledgeable, and seemingly always available without being obvious about it. The room was tiny--in keeping with the kind of working boat this was--but there was more than enough space for belongings in terms of thoughtfully placed drawers and shelving, and in terms of us, the guests, on the various decks and lounges located throughout the vessel. Bouchra is a fabulous cook. Breakfast was delicious and filling. But she also gives great advice. We had a couple of hours to kill before check-in, and she sent us to Stamp River Provincial Park where we got to see hundreds of migrating salmon and (from a very safe distance) two beautiful black bears. This hotel might not be for everyone--there are stairs to navigate (you will sleep in a bunk bed), and if you're the kind of person who needs a lot of space and likes to keep to themselves when traveling, this might not suit you. But if you're an intrepid traveler on the lookout for a really unique experience, do not hesitate--you will love it, too.
