Had the honor to participate in the Edmonton River Valley Discovery Tour hosted by Net Impact Edmonton, and it was a truly memorable experience. Our group had the pleasure of taking part in the Askiy-Geo Discovery Tour led by Keith along Moss Lake trail at Elk Island National Park. Our experience began with a sharing circle, touching on many aspects that connected wildlife, geology, archaeology and Métis culture. Every member of our group had a Métis sash tied in their fashion of choosing (voyageur or Métis princess style) before embarking on the hike. Along the hike, Keith shared many natural and cultural insights that illuminated our experience on the land. The tobacco offering was the highlight of the experience for our group. Coupled with Keith's wealth of knowledge and personable insights, this was an experience I would recommend again and again!

Keith is the most knowledgeable person on First Nations culture and customs you would ever meet. His tour covers the history of indigenous people in the area and points out archaeological finds in Edmonton. He even goes over some important First Nations customs. So skip the mall and come and enjoy being a Métis for a day and appreciate their culture.
