Wir haben lange im Voraus unseres Aufenthaltes Kontakt zu Tamarack Outdoors aufgenommen und nach der Einschätzung zur Möglichkeit der Begehung des des Carthew Alderson Trail gefragt (10-13 Juni 2024). Kelley hat mich mehrfach angeschrieben und mich über den jeweiligen Stand informiert. Als wir bereits in Waterton waren, informierte sie, dass Carey den Weg testet und dann nähere Infos habe. So konnten wir von ihm am 12.6. Details über den teilweise verschneiten Weg erfahren, und haben uns entschieden es zu wagen. Carey hat uns am nächsten Tag einen Privatshuttle ermöglicht und Trekkingstöcke geliehen. Der Service von Tamarack (Kelley und Carey im Besondere?) war großartig und die Wanderung eines der absoluten Highlights unserer diesjährigen Reise. Und der Chai Latte im angrenzenden Café war ebenfalls sehr lecker ?.

This is easily the best store in town for apparel and outdoorsy supplies. They carry a range of brand name, excellent quality clothing and shoes. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. They also run various hiking tours, operate shuttles, offer hiking art classes. My favourite part is the micro cafe inside - The Switchback. They offer tea and coffee and even breakfast sandwiches and smoothies in the summer season. The smoothies are to die for. The coffee options are what you’d expect from an upscale cafe.

We booked a guided hike with the company here. Everything from the shuttle and the drivers to the hike with our guide was great! We had a wonderful time! Our guide, Kyle, made sure to check in with us on how comfortable we were with the hike, as none of us have done much hiking before. He was informative and friendly, same with the drivers Carry and Lauren. When we returned back to the shop, we looked around and purchased a coffee/latte. It was overall a fantastic experience!

Amazing service and what an enjoyable day!

Booked the kayaking and hike and paint packages for myself and a pretty large group of friends that visited waterton. It was worth every penny we spent. We had so much fun but more importantly, the communication and setting up everything was pretty seamless. We did get lost on our way to the hike and paint (error in the meet up spot) but that was the only very tiny glitch (I'm nitpicking at this point).
Kelley was timely in her responses, we had to make a couple of changes and they were very flexible and just a pleasure to deal with. Danica was out hike and paint guide and she was very knowledgeable about the trail.

Highly recommend.

We booked the guided kayak tour and were so glad to have Carey as our guide! It was a fabulous way to see the parts of Waterton that we had never been to, and we even came across a bald eagle on the shoreline. A delicious warm beverage from the Switchback following our paddle was the perfect ending!

Tamarack always provides one of the highlights of our 1-week tours through Waterton-Glacier. Our tour company entrusts their phenomenal guides, including Carey, to guide our clients on the local trails. They never disappoint. Great info, great lunches, and so nice to have a fresh beverage at their cafe upon return. I look forward to returning to hike more of Waterton area with them in the future!
