Taxi Taxi - Banff, Alberta

Literally sitting here right now as I type this on the side of the trans Canada highway right outside Banff (2 km’s). Called and asked for a taxi to come pick up my wife and children as it’s -15° outside and our vehicle broke down. Dispatcher said “we’re too busy”.
Awesome that when a family’s lives are at stake, you’re too busy to help. (I’d happily pay whatever you’d like to gouge me, but you didn’t even give me the option).
Absolute scum. Do not ever trust these clowns.

Unfortunate ownership resulting in losses for the business. I would consider walking.

Response: Unfortunately they are also liars. I asked a couple questions regarding their suspect process (like them asking for a credit authorization before even sending an invoice). Then they decided to back out, I even offered to send the credit card information (see attached). Also, they lied about the price on here, they only ever quoted us $750 + 15% (see attached).

I HIGHLY recommend Timber Trail Taxi in Canmore for service! We used Timber Trail for our Lake Louise taxi service and they were amazing and kind unlike these idiots!

I used this cab service yesterday while I was visiting in Banff. The one star review is a reflection of the company's telephone representative/dispatcher Rob.

Clearly this man has issues and frustrations within his personal life. As typical with many individuals like this, their control freak predisposition dominates, and in Rob's case, he deflects his frustrations onto the faceless customers he deals with over the phone by being rude, and hanging up on them.

As mentioned within other reviews, I was also on the receiving end of his immature and unprofessional telephone mannerisms.

Rob; "Taxi Taxi."

Me; Hello, can I please get a taxi sent to the main parking lot at Bow Falls?"

Rob "Yup, OK"...click!

Seriously, that was it. No good bye, no "thank you for calling yellow taxi", or "the cab will be 10 to 15 minutes", an ETA or anything like that.

Given the fact I've never used this taxi service, I had no idea whether I'd be waiting 10 minutes or 45 minutes for a cab.

So I called Taxi Taxi again...

Rob; "Taxi Taxi."

Me; "Hi, I called a minute ago. You hung up very abruptly and I didn't have a chance to ask you about an ETA."

Rob; "It's on the way"...click!

I worked in the taxi industry for many years. If any of our telephone representatives handled customers like that, they would not have a job for a long.

Usually people like this feel they have ultimate job security. I'm guessing Rob relies on that to a degree, and is probably related to the manager or owner. Looking at some of the other reviews, it seems Yellow Taxi has a female counterpart that shares the same personality disorder as Rob? Perhaps another family member?

I'd say it's time for Rob to grow up, and show some respect.

I guarantee you this taxi company would have at least a 4-star rating if it wasn't for Rob. Zero people skills, and better suited to washing dishes in the back of a kitchen where he doesn't have to deal with customers, or anything frontline related. I'm guessing there's not a lot of competition regarding cab companies in Banff. That might change soon!

Extortionists. Manipulative. Lacks humanity.

We had finished a 20 km ascent of cascade mountain and it took us 4 hours longer than expected because one of our party got injured. We arrived at Mt Norquay at 11 pm, had just finished trekking through dark forests for 2 hours, and the guy was happy to charge us 65$ for a 7 minute ride to Banff town centre.

It doesn’t stop there. We had a stroke of luck and a Norquay shuttle was there that night, so we no longer needed the taxi. We offered him 5$ for his time, but he demanded the FULL AMOUNT. Then when we refused, he said he’d call the police. What a joker. Absolutely no humanity. Luckily he screwed off without a cent of our money.

Had a very disappointing experience when we ordered a cab from this company to go from Canalta Lodge, Banff to the Minniwanka lake. The duration of the ride was around 10m but we were charged a whopping $ 63.5!! It should have cost at most under $20. When asked, the excuse given was that the destination was outside city limits. It was clearly a rip off and this taxi service is best avoided.

Would not recommend. Absolute 0 stars. Me & my partner got told to get lost by the driver right after being dropped off at the hotel. Asked him what’s his problem & all he said in return “just get out” & Didn’t give us our change. Had to call dispatcher again for our change. Was ridiculous. Avoid Cab #20. 👎🏼👎🏼🚕💥

Don’t even bother calling here. Wanted to get a taxi from Lake Louise Village to Downtown Banff and the dispatcher was so rude and angry. He said “gimme your first name” so I started spelling out my first name. Cuts me off and goes “What’s your last name”. I said “sir i’m not done spelling my first name.” Goes “WHAT IS YOUR LAST NAME AND CREDIT CARD INFO?!!” I start spelling out my last name and then tell the other person in my group how rude he was being and dude hangs up the phone. Seriously despicable service. I hope that dude feels better. 😔

Excessive pricing
Do not trust this company. $100 for a 15 minutes (14 km) ride is absolutely insane and I will not visit Banff again because of it. Sorry for Banff restaurants and commerces.
I understand the city of Banff’s desire to reduce transportation in the park however there must be at least one more shuttle between Sunshine village and Banff on Fridays. 21:45 is simply too late and this taxi company is price gauging because of it.
AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE and this is the first time ever, I have written such a negative review.
