Wowzers!! Our stay at this Hotel was one for the memory books that we will talk about for years to come. The owner David is amazing. The caretakers were so obliging and the accommodations were top notch. We cannot wait to return for a Summer stay next year. The location is so central to any destination on Cape Breton Island. The views and the Sunsets are out of this world, no wonder Alexander Graham Bell, 3 US Presidents and our own first Prime Minister Sir John A MacDonald chose to stay there. This would make an excellent location for a Wedding or Family Reunion.

Very clean! The rooms are nice and spacious, beds are comfortable. Every room has their own private bathroom, and the water pressure in the showers are great. Kitchen is big and equipped with all the modern necessities. Excellent antique furniture in every room. We stayed in room 5, which is one of the front corner rooms. Two sides of the room had windows that open to the waters! It was so nice being serenaded to sleep for 5 nights to the sound of the waves! Would definitely recommend this historic hotel!

My wife and I rented this place for our wedding in Aug ‘19, and when we arrived we found that the caretakers has set-up a large camper trailer and parked two vehicles on the lawn. When I asked if they could move their vehicles for our wedding day (as my wife had spent months planning our wedding on the lawn where they were now camping), one of them (Elaine) became very angry and threatened to cancel our reservation. After I walked away and returned to my family who was already inside, Elaine entered the property without consent and began yelling insults at me in front of young children. We then contacted the property manager, and the caretakers were told to move their vehicles from the lawn, but the incident was very stressful for my family and I didn’t feel safe in the property. I think they should update the pictures on their website to show a camper trailer and vehicles parked on the lawn so that customers know what they’re buying.

I stayed there with my girlfriend late in the fall in ther previous season. The leaves were still good and the nearby Cabot Trail was uncrowded. The Inn is a beautiful building and the hosts are friendly and do a great job. I look forward to my next visit to this lesser known corner of Cape Breton

The hosts are very nice. We spent two days amd loved jearing the waves. Our room was well appointed and even had a huge claw foot tub. If you are going to visit the Hoghland museum i would recommend staying here as it well suites the feel.

Spent my summers here with my family. Aunt Ada,uncle Clenny . It hasn't changed! My memories of the ferry rides over to Iona and the highland games are so special.
