Very fun. Nice views and the conductor that explains local history and sights during the ride is a nice touch.
All crew was incredibly friendly and answer any questions you have.
Good value for money, actually seemed cheap to me for what you get ($33/pp).

Great way to spend a couple hours.

An excellent morning out while visiting the Penticton area! It’s always a great time to experience a historic train like this. The views along the route are fantastic, be sure to sit in the open cars on the valley side. The volunteers were great to chat with and they really have the whole operation running so smoothly.

I’ve been on several preserved railroads in Alberta but they’ve all been diesel, this one in BC, 45 minutes or so south of Kelowna, was steam. We visited for the “scenic ride” which goes up the full length of the track and returns, lasting 90 minutes. There is narration and music explaining the line on the way up and not on the return journey. No food/drink served on the train and there are only basic snacks (chips, popcorn, chocolate, cookies etc), soft drinks and hot coffee sold at the station. Some of their other events do have food available. The run is over 12 miles and gives some stunning views of the impressive local scenery. The staff were all courteous and ready to be helpful. A good afternoon for railroad enthusiasts.
