Stayed here twice, and twice too many. First time with my son to visit my granddaughter for a few days. We booked on vrbo as this place is actually a condo, where the owners if they choose can join the rental pool. There really isn’t any hotel staff as such, just occasionally someone at the reception desk. First impressions were good, it had a nice kitchen, nice bedding and seemed very modern. The downside is there is only parking on the street and most of the time there aren’t any spaces. It is also quite a walk into town, there are a few pubs close by but nothing worth mentioning. Was basically satisfied with the place, until the second night, was watching Netflix on my iPad it wasn’t loud at all. Suddenly there was stomping on the ceiling from above. At first I didn’t think much but then it happened again. I then realized they must be able to hear my iPad through the ceiling.||I was offered a bit of a deal the following year so decided to try the place again but only for one night. That was the worst night in a so-called hotel ever. You could hear every single sound from above, walking, talking, people chopping food in the kitchen, suitcases being rolled across the floor, not to mention a group of people below having a very loud party.||I decided to write this review as I see three of these condos are currently for sale, and I do hope if anyone is considering buying they read not only my review but the others as well. We since bought a condo in Nanaimo and it is completely silent inside, both day and night.

Impressive when you walk through the door. Large bright rooms. Comfy bedroom. Washer and dryer in the room- awesome for long term stays. Then you start to notice the little things- dirty greasy dishes- smoking oven- leaky washing machine- lack of cutlery- lack of utensils; I had a soup ladle and a wooden flat spoon thing- cigarette butts on the patio; non smoking building. Neighbors who live in the building vaping right outside my room several times. Also, laying on their bed with the blinds constantly open- started getting a little creepier every time I had to walk by. ||||As for privacy- I was on a long term stay. Do not disturb remained on my door and my privacy was respected. I needed my garbage taken out and toiletries refreshed one day so I left a note to that effect and my requests were taken care of. Then after returning to my room after work near the end of my stay, I felt something was different in my room. Once I turned the tv on I realized that my cable tv had been changed while I was out. This upgrade was obviously planned, why weren't guests given notice that someone would be in their room attending to this upgrade? Total violation of my do not disturb sign! It really ticked me off. Which brings my rating to a 3. I can overlook the dirty dishes and lack of cutlery- there is a dishwasher in the room. I can over look the vaping neighbors outside my door. But when my privacy is not respected, I'd rather stay elsewhere. ||||Not a lot within close walking distance. Harbor front walk way is nearby- very pretty. Room overlooks a marina. Very close to departure bay ferry terminal.

There have been some negative reviews of this place, however we had a good experience. We stayed in “the presidential suite”, the room was spacious and clean, with a well equipped kitchen. We asked about parking as we didn’t want to park on the road and were offered underground parking with elevator access for $10 per night which we took. This place is roomy and in a good location near The View restaurant which I recommend. The establishment is an apartment building with permanent residents also, which I have found to be quite common. The room was cleaned and serviced daily, tea and coffee facility’s in the room also. Good value for money.

Kind of a strange place. Lovely waterfront setting next to a picturesque marina. But there's nothing else nearby. Parking is on a public street directly in front of the hotel. Desk clerk had some difficulty with English and was absent when we needed help with temperature control. Said later that she was "dropping off an extra key at a room" but she was gone for at least 45 minutes. 2 BR suite was clean and spacious. There is no central air. Instead, there are devices that look like dehumidifiers in bedrooms and living room that do not come close to cooling the place. Front desk doesn't open until 9:00 a.m. so at checkout you just drop the keys off in the lobby.

This was the highlight of our visit to Vancouver Island. We had planned on doing more sightseeing the day we stayed here. Instead we decided to just sit on the balcony and enjoy watching the boats come and go.
We had the Presidential with the full kitchen and washer and dryer. So doing out laundry was a perfect excuse to relax for the afternoon. We had a memorable dinner at the restaurant right by the marina. The next morning we were up early to catch the ferry. It was just a short distant down the road. Another plus was the secure parking in the garage under the hotel.

This was advertised as air conditioned. The temperature in our room was over 91 degrees. Their portable air conditioners don't work adequately. Room was dirty. No linens provided for third bed. Free parking is on street where signs say you can only park for four hours. Charged extra for underground parking. Hotel staff are only there for limited hours and don't call back when they say they will. Accidentally left a personal item in the room when I checked out and it wasn't returned.

This is not a typical hotel. Seems like a condo complex that has been converted into hotel suites. That being said, they are beautiful, spacious and comfortable. It's not the cheapest accomodation in town, but for the price of a cheap hotel in Vancouver, you get a beautiful one-bedroom suite with a full kitchen. (Might be a challenge cooking - not much in the way of pots/pans and dishes etc!) Only parking seems to be street parking (unless I am missing something!). Overall, I would stay here again if I needed to.

My wife and I stayed in the presidential suite and her folks in a regular room. Both rooms had poor sound proofing. Folks above us with poor parenting skills let their kids play soccer or something in the room until late. No one at desk after hours to deal with this and no returned phone call the next day. I had to confront the guests personally. Stay was ruined at this point. In our folks room they could hear every nuance the neighbouring bathroom. Such a shame, the marina setting is nice and the marina restaurant is great. I cannot recommend this hotel.
