The old powerhouse has been transformed into a fascinating visitor attraction.
Admission is just $8 for adults (as of September 2025) — and it’s absolutely worth it.

Inside, you’ll find an exhibition area and an interactive zone where you can try out different experiments to better understand electricity and power.

Walking among the massive machines that operated for nearly a century (1912–2000), I was amazed by the scale and craftsmanship — especially considering how limited construction technology was at the time.

On top of that, the staff are all super friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.

We visited Stave Falls Powerhouse today with a group of kids and were genuinely impressed. It was fun and engaging for both kids and adults. You could easily spend hours exploring all the exhibits—there’s so much to see and learn. Everything was very informative, interactive, and well presented. I didn’t expect such a high-quality museum experience right here in Mission. Highly recommended for families or anyone curious about local history.

This museum is a hidden gem and a must-stop, and only $8! Very informative, interesting, and interactive too. Great for kids and adults alike. The guide on our tour was very knowledgeable. The only thing I wish is that the tour had moved at a slightly faster pace, since we were in a bit of a rush. Still, I highly recommend it, such a cool place! The ice cream and other treats inside are also very reasonably priced. The museum is well conditioned, which makes it another great stop on a hot summer day. Overall, an amazing experience!

Excellent stop! Very impressive displays, including interactive displays and visual ones where you can get up close to the generators and turbines. Really well done - thank you BC Hydro. Highly recommend going!

This hydroelectric power station began operating in 1912 and was one of the largest in North America at the time. The guided tours are very thorough, making it a great place for both kids and adults to learn about hydropower.

I visited this place for Tourism Challenge last year and this year. This is such a cool place to learn how hydroelectricity is generated. It also shows the history and geography of this dam and BC. This is very good place to take a day trip with kids for learning.

This place is a treasure trove of info for anyone new to electricity production. It’s a historical gem that takes you back in time to the early 1900s, revealing all the secrets of how things were done back then. It’s a must-visit for both beginners and kids!
