The location can't be beat. Easy access to all the shops and the Avon Theatre. AC worked well. Mini fridge stocked was a nice touch. Soap smelled awesome. Jacuzzi was really lacking in maintenance. The plug didn't work so we had to use a shower cap to make the water stay in. The bed was very soft, almost too soft but mattresses are so subjective. Extreme lack of plugs so bring a power bar. If the price was reduced we would stay again.

My husband and I were in town recently to take in a couple of shows and stayed at The Stratford Hotel. Our accommodation was very clean, quiet and comfortable, and within easy walking distance of downtown and The Avon Theatre. Best of all, Amelia and staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. We were very pleased and very impressed! We definitely will be back.

Overall we really loved our time at the Stratford Hotel. Our room was well appointed and service was helpful and professional.

The hotel is immediately adjacent to a main street, which can be quite noisy during busy times of year (ie. the festival) but they supply earplugs which deal with everything but the vibrations from passing transports or motorbikes. Light sleepers may wish to pass for this reason, however.

The provided continental breakfast was tasty and locally sourced, but it was a little tricky to serve and enjoy in the lobby. They recommended talking it to the patio out front but air quality and high heat removed that option.

Contactless check-in was very easy. Location is fantastic, right downtown, lots to do within walking distance. Service was professional. The only thing I didn't give 5 stars for is the rooms. They have a lot of character, very quaint, cozy and clean. But this is a renovated historic building, so don't expect 5 star amenities. That said, we would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend it for a nice stay.

Rather overpriced for what you get—an older establishment sorely in need of updating, and essentially no service. The self check-in process is confused, and the only person available to answer questions or provide assistance is the (highly competent) housekeeper, in a catch-as-catch-can manner. Although our room was quite clean overall, the carpet was very stained and the coffee maker was broken. We were charged $22 per night for parking, and a whopping $200 PER NIGHT damage deposit placed on our credit card upon check in (neither of which were spelled out when we made the reservation). We would not consider staying here again.

Quaint and well-maintained hotel in a great location. The decor is charming. Rooms are nicely appointed. Premises and rooms are very clean. Friendly staff. Free continental breakfast in the morning. Lovely outdoor seating area in a garden in front of the building. Parking for $20/day is well worth it. Conveniently located to shops and restaurants. Walking distance to Festival Theatre, Tom Patterson Theatre and Avon Theatre. Highly recommended.

This is a charming centrally located hotel -within walking distance to everything! It does not have a front desk. Check in is keyless through your reservation email. There is a small gathering lounge when you first enter - with light snacks and water. Our rooms were upstairs. The wooden stairs were ok, and we were helped with our luggage. There are a few rooms on the main level if you have mobility issues. The rooms were small, but sufficient. WiFi and TV.In room mini fridge , &Nespresso machine. The bathroom was small but adequate. Very firm mattress. This building is from the 1800’s. |Every morning fresh baked goods( local bakery), yogurt , juices and fruit. There is a cute outdoor patio with a few tables. The lounge area was a nice gathering spot where guests chatted about shows, art fair and restaurants. Lovely. The best thing though was location! How nice to have a nightcap after a show-,then stroll to the hotel. Special thanks to the staff who were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
