Our family has now been to the Tides for the past 4 years for a 5 night resort book out. It is a wonderful and relaxing place that we have looked forward to visiting every year.
The cottages are lovely, clean, has everything we need and provides privacy space for each family unit. Views are fantastic. Budd is a wonderful host, very accommodating and responds very quickly to any questions.
The pool is a lovely gathering space during the day and there is ample lawn space for the kids to run around and play. The stairs leading to the ocean allow for the daily “cold plunge”!
I highly recommend The Tides and look forward to next year’s family trip to Pender Island.

We had our wedding at The Tides and hosted our friends and family for a three-day celebration and it was everything we dreamed of!

Budd was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the entire planning process, always available to answer any questions. The venue has many essentials on-site, including tables and chairs, which made planning easier. The property is beautifully maintained, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about the views and how stunning everything looked — photos don’t do it justice! Budd was out there all weekend, working hard to ensure everything was in perfect shape. The pool was heated, sparkling clean, and a big hit with our guests all weekend long.

I couldn’t recommend The Tides more — whether for a wedding or a relaxing island escape. This place is truly a slice of paradise. We’re already talking about coming back next summer!

I cannot say enough good things about this location and host! We recently hosted our small wedding at the tides, welcoming 16 of our closest family and friends for 4 days. The property and view are absolutely stunning, the perfect backdrop for ceremony and reception. The arbutus house has a huge deck and full kitchen that allows for big group meals and a natural place the gather. The rooms are charming and clean with most also boasting stunning views. The pool, hot tub, and games helped to create an exceptional family day after the wedding. I highly recommend booking the extra day as you won't be ready to leave! Out host Budd went above and beyond, always a text away with anything we needed. Thank you Budd for such a magical weekend!!

Our family had the most enjoyable time at The Tides this week. We booked the Arbutus House, Oak cottage and had friends staying in the lavender cottage. We were blessed with hot weather so spent full days enjoying all of the amenities…pool, games area, and fabulous large deck at the Arbutus House. Last night we watched the sunset as we roasted marshmallows and sat around the fire pit. Cannot wait to make this an annual event.

The Tides was everything we could have hoped for, both as our wedding venue and our home base for the weekend on Pender. The property is stunning, with beautifully kept grounds and so many thoughtful details. Budd and Brooke were so kind and helpful every step of the way, from coordinating logistics to making sure everything was perfect on the day. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how gorgeous the setting was. It felt warm, personal, and effortlessly beautiful — the dream venue for a Gulf Island wedding or a weekend getaway. We can’t wait to stay again.

We spent a relaxing 3 days at The Tides in August as part of a bigger trip to the gulf islands. Perfect location, all the amenities you could need and lovely owners who communicated amazingly both pre and during our stay. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful sunsets and lucky enough to see some otters and orcas right from the property in the mornings!

We had a wonderful, peacful, fun time at the Elm cottage.
Returning for a second time, our stay at The Tides Cottages graced us with an abundance of nature, clean, comfortable cottage, friendly hospitality from Budd , Brook, and staff.
It was a pleasure to have stayed at such a beautiful ocean front getaway.
From the hot tub, the morning coffee overlooking the ocean , the short walk to a magnificent beach, the relaxing evenings on the deck or outdoor fireplace. A magical place to spend time in.
We appreciate all the care and details in creating a pleasant, relaxing environment.

Our extended family recently spent four nights at The Tides on Pender Island and every aspect exceeded our expectations. The Tides, a small but gorgeous resort is a short drive or walk from Otter Bay Ferry Terminal, that is surrounded by natural beauty and super south facing water views. We appreciated the option to rent out the full resort for our group of ten which provided us with the space to thoroughly enjoy the amenities on offer. It was a total luxury to have the whole place to ourselves. The grounds are spacious, thoughtfully designed to enjoy bocce games or shuffle board.
We made good use of the pool which was clean and more importantly, heated for the unpredictable mid June weather. After a swim, the hot tub was a much relished amenity.
The large Arbutus Cottage is very comfortable and roomy with a surprisingly large well equipped kitchen that made cooking large dinners a breeze. We gathered every night on the covered porch to admire the views and watch the passing ferries. The other cottages, although compact were clean, beautifully appointed each with the iconic gulf island views.
The west coast of British Columbia is spoiled for places to vacation. The Tides, was a unique find that we look forward to returning.
