Banff town is livelier than I expected, with crowds and shops lining the streets. There are many gift shops and clothing stores where you can pick up extra warm layers if needed. Many of the restaurants look great, and people seem to be fully enjoying the atmosphere. It’s a peaceful yet well-equipped little town.

Beautiful town. With great weather it was nice to walk around town. Tons of stores, bars, restraunts, etc. Nice walk to the river or up to the Inns.

Parking was easy for June, compared to Breckenridge, Big Bear, and other similar towns I have been to.

A picturesque town , which could be based for bothering Louise and Moraine lake tours. One can easily spending a day just in this quaint little place . The conservation of houses by locals and museum is worth a visit.

A great tourist spot, it gets very crowded with tourists. Its best to park your car/rv early in morning so that you get a parking spot and then walk or take the local “ROAM” bus service to get around Banff or even take the “ROAM” out to Lake Louise. Parking is in very short supply!

Love Banff. The history and the scenery is unparalleled. Parking is a problem, but don’t worry. The town of Banff has several bus routes (called the Roam) to take you to all the points of interest in town.

You will need a state park pass to even go into the town. We parked (most is paid parking via website) used the signs to add our license plate number and walked to the visitor center to purchase the park pass. You can stop on the freeway( drive up buildings on the left) but lines were super long. It was much quicker to drive into town, find parking and walk to the visitor center to purchase the pass. Once that was done there is tons to explore in the town.

I wasn't prepared for just how bustling and energetic Banff would be! The main streets are absolutely buzzing with activity - locals and tourists alike creating this wonderful, infectious energy that makes you want to explore every corner. The shopping scene is fantastic, with an impressive array of gift shops offering everything from local crafts to those essential extra layers you didn't pack (trust me, you'll want them!).
What really struck me was how seamlessly this town balances that quintessential mountain tranquility with all the amenities you could want. The restaurant scene is outstanding - we walked past so many places that had us stopping to peek at menus and watch people clearly having the time of their lives on patios and through windows. There is this incredible sense that everyone's just genuinely enjoying being there.
Despite all the activity, Banff maintains this peaceful, welcoming vibe that makes it feel like a true retreat. It's rare to find a place that's this well-equipped and lively while still feeling like an authentic mountain town escape. Whether you're here for adventure or just to soak in the atmosphere, Banff delivers on every level.
