Tugah, c'est une expérience de rencontres chaleureuses de l'arrivée à la sortie! Nous avons découvert une famille accueillante qui aime partager son histoire et sa passion pour les chiens en toute simplicité. Nous venions du Québec et on se sentait chez nous! Nous avons fait une belle petite ballade sur le lac par une journée de très grand froid en mars dernier, c'était majestueux. Les chiens sont aussi accueillants que les hôtes et nous avons apprécié connaître aussi leur histoire et comment ils sont entraînés. Mahsi!

What a wonderful experience!

Everything from the moment we started communication for the reservation was fantastic. I would recommend them to anyone traveling to Yellowknife.

This is a family-run dog kennel that focuses on small groups. They were very hospitable to our group of 8, and took the time to introduce us to the dogs and tell us stories before the ride. The ride itself was awesome - River and Wynter were great and explained things to us along the entire ride.

Following the ride we were invited into the cabin for some hot beverages and homemade bannock while listening to family stories and telling us about the indigenous culture of the family.

The dog sled ride was a great northern adventure experience in Yellowknife. The guides were very knowledgable and easy to talk to. The dogs were very well taken care of and super sweet! It was a wonderful experience.

Going dog sledding with Tugáh was the highlight of our trip to Yellowknife. Wynter and River were so nice and knowledgeable, they let us meet and get to know the pups before the ride. The ride on frozen Kam lake was peaceful and pretty. And afterwards we warmed up in the log cabin with some hot tea and fresh bannock while immersing ourselves in indigenous culture and captivating stories shared by their uncle. It was a perfect day, and I highly recommend booking a tour with them – a flawless 10/10 experience.

This is one of the best experiences you can have when visiting NWT. Activities aside, River, Winter, and Dawn are some of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met, you just have to meet them to know it. Love and peace from Ontario ♥️

We wanted to support an indigenous family-run business. And we were not disappointed! The sled ride was great fun. The dogs were well cared for and anxious to get on the trail. Wynter and River were wonderful guides, full of information. Their dad who kept the cozy cabin warm, served us hot chocolate, bannock and cookies. We enjoyed the furs and other interesting items to explore in the cabin. A wonderful experience we would recommend.

This was such an amazing experience to cap off our time in Yellowknife. The ride over the frozen lake was so peaceful, as the dogs happily led the way surrounded by gorgeous winter scenery. Taltson, our musher, was very knowledgeable and friendly and helped us get to know the dogs beforehand by telling us their names and personalities.

Afterwards, we enjoyed some delicious hot chocolate and freshly baked bannock in the cozy log cabin decorated with family treasures and traditional heirlooms. In our conversation with Scott (who is a great storyteller!), we learned about his family's generations-long passion for dog sledding, the importance of dog sledding in Northern cultures, and the origins and etymology of Yellowknife.

The word "indigenous" seems to be thrown out there a lot in the local tourism agencies, but it is clear that this family business actually has deep roots with the indigenous culture and cares deeply about its preservation.

I would definitely recommend dog sledding with Tugah to anyone visiting Yellowknife!

It was so lovely meeting everyone at Tugah Northern Experiences. A truely wholesome experience. The kind that makes you wann come back for more, much more!
Wynter and her family were very welcoming and made us feel comfortable all along. Had great concersations with everyone and enjoyed the cute cabin, the furs, the stories, the food, the mittens(!!) and of course, the dogs and the ride!
I can’t recommend it enough!
