I wish I could say we had the same wonderful experience at Twin Lakes as we have had in the past 2 years but unfortunately not this year. The resort is under new ownership and I think there is much to be learned by him on running a resort. ||It appeared he had not hired any maintenance staff as the grass/weeds were about a foot high. The picnic tables at some cabins weren’t useable because of the long grass. The large cottages/homes on the other side of the road had weeds that were 2-3 feet high.||The tiny beach area they have was full of dried up weeds and debris that had washed up on shore and appeared to have been there a while. Fortunately, another guest who was only there for a few days was kind enough to rake and clean it up so his toddler could play in the sand. The main deck’s umbrellas were missing (stored) and the lovely deck chairs they use to have were now up by the pump house under a tree that were in terrible condition, dirty, worn and full of bird excrement. ||The cabin we were in this year was a good size with stove and full size fridge which was nice and clean with new windows/patio doors and in a great location with an awesome view. The A/C worked really well. The baseboards and walls need repair and paint though and there is an area behind the toilet where the baseboard is totally missing and insulation is showing that looks yucky and there was a weird odour in the bathroom that I believe was coming from that area. We had tiny ants in the cabin which was a first but thankfully Craig, the property manager kindly brought us some ant traps which worked. We had a few spiders as well. The mosquitoes this year were horrendous which is expected I guess in cottage country but the long grass and weeds and flooding didn’t help. The barbecues all need replacing, they are all rusted out in every cabin. The toaster didn’t work but we were kindly given a replacement by Craig who was very helpful and also found us a better barbecue and assisted us with other things as well. Many of the cabin shorelines were flooded because the lake is so high (not the resorts fault of course). Fortunately our cabin was on a bit of a hill so it was ok. ||Our first few days were plagued with plumbing issues, water pressure was low and at times we had no water. Sometimes we had to fill the back of the toilet with water manually, and on one morning we had to use bottled water. There was another time I was in the shower all lathered up and the water stopped completely. We actually called the owner to complain and told him we were fed up and leaving and wanted a refund but he said he’d arranged for a plumbing service to come so we decided to stay as we love it here so much. The plumbers came and had to replace all the filters in the main pump house that were full of gunk that had blocked the whole water system at the resort. To be fair to the resort, the plumbing issues arose as a result of the town fully opening the dam between 12 Mile Lake and Mountain Lake (which is directly across the road from the resort) and all the dirt and debris coming from the dam clogged up the filters which also caused all the flooding on the property water fronts. ||I believe the new owner has plans to renovate the resort but in the interim if he hasn’t already, he really needs to hire maintenance staff to look after the properties, at least on the outside for now. I hope that when we return next summer we will see improvement. We really missed the previous owner and his lovely family and staff.

Memorable days of our lives,
while staying at Twin lake Resort in town of Mindan on long weekend of Aug/24.
Two cabins were nestled into 100yds away from the serene lake with crisp clean water.
These two units#41 & 43 3- Bed rooms each with two full bathroom in each unit.
Reasonably spacious for three couples in each unit.
Cherished memories are the end result of this two lake resort, especially in the morning hours when the sky was painted with shades of orange, that sets the tone for a peaceful & enjoyable time together with family or friends.
Kitchens are equipped with all modern amenities with good working condition.
Morning on the beach or adjoining porch are equally filled with tranquil and peaceful environment with gentle waves blended with hot cup of coffee in your hand sipping through.
Inviting crisp clean & calm water, one couldn't resist to go far swim later on.
Town of Mindon in itself is inviting with lots of activity for kids, such as Go Carting, Riverboarding walk, canoeing
Mini golfing and best of all to top it up taste of Kawathra ice cream well known for its varieties to choose from.
Prices very reasonable while looking at their sizes.
Peaceful, Relaxing and tranquility are the ingredients you are bound to depart from here with.

The cabins on the water provide a beautiful view but are run down and dirty. The property manager was rude and his attitude towards women seems to have come from the 1950s.
All of the "houses" are on the opposite side of highway 35. With the volume of traffic and speeds of vehicles on a MAJOR north-south artery... You are literally taking your life in your hand. Just last weekend the elderly couple renting the house near to us were almost struck by vehicles 3 times because they couldn't get across the highway fast enough. Almost more disturbing was the fact that the "guests" in the main buildings were being illegally evicted from their long term rentals and in a number of cases forced to live in tents and vehicles. One of the guests showed me around the complex and the absolutely appalling conditions. Broken steps, uncut grass, filthy hallways, animal feces everywhere inside and out. I would avoid this place at all costs.

Well this is our second time going to this place and we just love it. Once a year I take my boys and we do our fishing trip. The view is amazing in the morning, day or night! The cabins are heated so great for those colders nights. It is located close to a main road which doesn't bother me. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. Just wished the boat launch was paved and you do need a 4x4 vehicle to launch as it's gravel. But will definitely return for another fishing trip!! Thanks to all the stuff that keep the place running. Keep up the fantastic job and see you soonđŸ«¶đŸ«¶đŸ‘‹
On top our fishing trip was a success as we got 4.5lbs pike of shore😁

Cabin very run down, toilet didn't work ; had to add water. Queen size bed on a double boxspring very uncomfortable. Pots didn't have lids, had to use a frying pan as a lid. Fire escape plan not for our cabin, had a beautiful view, but the deck couldn't even sit 2 people.

So another enjoyable vacation at lovely Twin Lakes Resort on beautiful Mountain Lake has regrettably come to an end. Our kitty sure loved it here too. This was our second visit to the resort as we stayed here in July 2022 as well. This is the perfect location for us with it being just a couple hours drive from home and it’s such a pretty clean lake and no fishy smell. There are many lakes to see in the area as you drive around and some excellent restaurants just a short drive away. There are some cute tourist towns to visit too within an hours drive.||We want to give credit to the wonderful people who make this resort so special, Luigi Centurami, his daughter Julia, her son Jayden as well as Janice, Max & James who all contributed to making our stay enjoyable, comfortable and who were all ever so helpful and attentive with any questions or needs. They truly go above and beyond to please their guests. Highly recommend a stay here for long or short term. We prefer long term! Already looking forward to our return next summer.

Absolutely would never recommend to anyone. New owners. This used to be a beautiful place to come too. Since new owners they don’t cut grass. Main dock missing umbrellas and beach is not maintained now it has weeds and rocks. Arrived Friday no internet no tv. Called new owners they referred us to the contact numbers in cabin. Told to call Pravin. We did no answer sent text. Next day Saturday still no tv or internet. Texted. Got reply Bell will repair should be fixed later that day. Nope. Next day texted again. No reply. They don’t care. BBQ doesn’t work properly and rusted beyond use. Only 2 forks in kitchen of 2 bedroom cottage that sleeps 6. Pans for cooking are atrocious(see pictures). Mirror in bathroom has huge black spots on it. Beds are so old and uncomfortable. Sorry been coming here for years loved this place. Now I will NEVER return. Shame on you new owners. You ruined paradise.

Had a chance to visit this last week. We were the Cabin 2, which is good enough for 6 people (2 bedroom). The pictures on their website are very descriptive, and does reflect on what you can expect.

Julia and her family were great hosts. Her mom is really friendly and will tell you the places to go in the area. The property, the beach area is well kept. They took time to clear the beach area of stones, etc which made is absolutely safe for kids. They do offer stuff for rent as well.

I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. Will definitely visit this place again.

Too bad that I wasn't able to catch any fish 🙁

Go up
