Lors de mon appel telephonique le receptionniste m a dit que les chiens étaient acceptes ,lorsque la barman m a enregistree le 24 octobre 2022 je lui ai dit être accompagnee d un chien . Elle a pris un deposit de 500 dollars . Le lendemain j ai quitté l hôtel sans pouvoir demander un document sur mon séjour. A 8h du matin il n y avait personne a la réception ou au bar . Le jour même le deposit était encaisse . Après plusieurs appels j ai parlé à la dame qui m avait accueillie le manager refusant de me parler. Le propriétaire s est approprie l argent en sanction car les chiens sont interdits dans l hotel. Cela n est pas écrit sur leur site et on dit l oppose au client.
Ce sont des voleurs qui s en prennent aux gens de passage qu ils rackettent .
Le manager et le propriétaire n ont pas voulu me parler. Ils ont mon numéro de téléphone et mon adresse . Ils savaient que parcourant 2000km je ne reviendrais pas les deranger.
Ils pensent pouvoir escroquer en toute impunite une femme seule de 65 ans qu ils depouillent du maximum
85,12 CAD pour la chambre et 500CAD de bonus.

The room and amenities were clean and functional. Bathroom appears to be recently upgraded. The outside of the building is not as nice as the room though it is basic accommodation. No in-room coffee, no in-room safe, and no dead-bolt on the door. Air conditioner is loud as is typical. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Better than paying twice the price to be on the edge of the highway. Stores, eateries and EV charging station are nearby. I'd stay there again.

This is a tough place to rate, because the staff is super friendly and helpful and the food is affordable. They have a fantastic cheeseburger, too! The reason I'm giving three stars is mainly based on the hotel experience. The room was extremely aged and drab, the sofa was torn, the surround in the shower was coming off the wall, the carpet was ancient, and the bed was old and uncomfortable. For the price, it's about what a person could reasonably expect, but I think doing some renovating and increasing the prices a bit would serve this place well.

The room was nice and clean. The room had been renovated. It had 2 beds. One was more comfortable than the other one. The shower was challenging as it was hard to control the water temperature. There was a fridge in the room and it worked well. It was pretty quiet. I was concerned since it was over a bar but it was fine except for the trains. The main train line is in front of the hotel and that is where our room faced. They do have wifi. There was a problem with the bill but they fixed it right away. The prices were reasonable. There is a restaurant, bar with VLTs on the main floor. Going up and down the stairs was hard for us as we are older. There is no elevator.

Loud and noisy. Can hear everything. Train went by 3 times in the night... heard every break in the track.

On the plus side, the staff are awesome! They moved me to the other side of the hall. They even offered to move me to a different motel if moving across the hall wasn't enough. Excellent customer service.

Had my worst breakfast ever. Half a hour wait and it was cold served. The Washroom where dirty and out of paper.
The Jelly was spoiled and my toast burnt.
I would recommend go somewhere else to eat.

Older motor hotel in the center of Virden, right across from the old stone CPR Museum. Really good restaurant downstairs with a large beverage room. Rooms were furnished in a older style, but were clean and quiet. Beds are firm bedspring type with lots of support and I had the best nights sleep I had all week. Price was quite reasonable for a room with twin beds. $89.00 all in. Only had a shower stall and not a tub, but everything was very clean.|| Heating & Cooling worked very well and the rooms were comfortable. Also had a desk in my room so that worked for catching up on paperwork.|| I didn't know there was any hotels in the center of Virden and was glad I got directed to the center of town. Neat place to stay and saved a bunch of money that I would have otherwise spent on a chain hotel.
