Recently, I had the pleasure of experiencing the Algonquin Log Cabin Adventure over the May Long Weekend, and it exceeded all expectations.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and felt at home in the cozy log cabin. The all-inclusive experience meant we could fully immerse ourselves in nature without worrying about the details.

The activities were fantastic. Canoeing on the serene waters, hiking through the breathtaking wilderness, and enjoying delicious meals were just some of the highlights. The guided excursions added depth to our adventure, providing insights into the local flora and fauna that we would have otherwise missed. As proud Canadians, we gained valuable skills and knowledge about Canada's stunning natural landscapes, to say the least.

Being off the grid was a refreshing change, allowing us to disconnect from our busy lives and connect with each other and nature. The blend of comfort and wilderness was perfect, with comfortable accommodations and the rustic charm of the cabin.

I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a memorable getaway with friends or family.

Thank you to the team at Algonquin Log Cabin Adventure for an unforgettable weekend. We'll definitely be back!

Jo and I would just like to thank everyone for making this such a special trip, the food from Nikoline (and what Jake was able to cook on a camping stove in strong lake winds) were delicious, Nikoline also accommodated my Type 1 Diabetes with all the nutrition information I needed to manage my blood sugars correctly.

Kelly and Jake were fantastic on the Safari and made Jo feel comfortable with her lack of confidence in the portaging. Jo has commented many times to friends we've been speaking to, about the tour and how well looked-after she felt (Kelly's new nickname for her has kind of stuck, "The Princess") love it!

Rob's expertise in photography and his approachable nature made swapping stories and experiences very easy.

In summary, you have made this tour a very slick operation and was the perfect way for Jo to celebrate her 50th birthday in a perfect Canadiana experience!!

We spent 3 nights in the Manitou house. It was awesome. Lots of room for our family of five. What a beautiful, quiet space to unplug and unwind. Incredibly clean and cozy. The kitchen is great, plenty of tools. The solar power is incredibly efficient. The staff were fantastic. If you want the camping experience but with the comforts of home and far less work this is the perfect mix! You should check I out!

We had a wonderful time! We are a couple in our 60's going on a canoe trip for the first time. Our guide Brandon was fantastic. He was helpful yet encouraged participation. The route was just challenging enough to feel authentic. The vistas were stunning and the campsites comfortable. It was great to meet and travel the other guests. A great introduction to outdoor adventures.

We had a lovely time. Thanks to everyone who helped by lighting the sauna and fire for us and providing us with fresh wood and other bits and pieces we needed. We enjoyed ourselves despite the rain because the sauna is just fantastic. Everything is efficient and well run and the place is beautiful. Our dog particularly liked the trails, the woods and rocky outcrops. We enjoyed a pleasant canoe ride out to the floating sauna as it was a bit too cold to swim in the first week of May. Nahma allowed us to really appreciate nature, while feeling comfortable and safe. We went for long walks on the trails and came back to our cosy cottage and warmed up by the fire, toasted ourselves in the sauna, refreshed ourselves in the lake then came back and cooked a good meal. Ideal!

My wife and I took a 5 day trip. I was amazing! Our guide was perfect. Michael (Smokey) taught me a lot over our short time together. It was very obvious he was an expert in his field. We learned about canoeing, the park, camping, cooking outdoors, ropes... the list goes on. I loved the experience. It was physical and challenged me especially on some of the longer portages. I can't wait to be back in the park again. This picture is one of many, many beautiful things we experienced.

This was a return trip to VoyageurQuest. We had been there in the summer of 2013, and spent a great deal of time on the lake and in the sauna (simultaneously).

The kids were 5 years older (16 and 18), and were hesitant about missing the warm Australian summer holiday to spend with their parents in a cold Canadian winter.

What an amazing time. After our initial consternation about driving in Canadian winter conditions and problems finding the place - we thought we knew where we were going again - Emily from VQ tracked our vehicle down from the sound of it on the road, and then invited us back to our "shack" with a warm fire, and hot drinks - before quickly giving us time to put on the skis and snowshoes she had set out, for a trek across the lake (Kawawaywog).

Next day we again donned the skis and snowshoes to enjoy the snow at our own pace, and in unforgettable winter conditions. Emily generously dipped into one of her Christmas presents to fortify our coffee before going out in the afternoon, and then had cheese, pickles and charcuterie, and cocktails on our return. After which we proceeded to the sauna, and did what only comes natural by rotating between jumping in the snow, and running back into the heat.

The next day involved dog-sledding, and I keep thinking that I thought I was in shape, until I spent the day doing that, followed by another sauna. It was another unforgettable experience which we were grateful to have been able to do.

As we left on the final day, the comments from the backseat of the car I recall included:

"This place keeps exceeding my expectations."

and

"Somehow, I think I'll be back here."

Thanks to Emily, John and the team for their hospitality.

We had an excellent 3-day canoe trip with MA & Taylor from Voyager Quest. They were both very knowledgeable about nature and local first nation culture and showed us the best spots during the tour. And we didn't expect such a culinary treat - amazing what they could prepare on a campfire. Highly recommended!
