We had a great snowshoe and chalet getaway with Voyageur Quest! The accommodation was spotless and cozy, with fresh bedding, a warm wood fire, and a nice view of the lake. The sauna— a perfect way to unwind after a day in the snow.

Kiera was absolutely wonderful — she checked in on us daily to ensure we had everything we needed, from water to firewood, and answered any questions within minutes. She also gave us great tips on nearby trails, which we really appreciated.

Having the kitchen to prepare meals and store food was a huge plus. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would recommend this charming getaway to our friends and family.

Came here recently after exploring Algonquin whilst my sister was visiting from the UK

The location here is amazing, if you’re looking for somewhat secluded, the nearest “town” which consists of a couple of restaurants and gas station is just under a 30 minute drive.

There is no cell reception, the this as a pro or a con depending on if you’re wanting to escape, but definitely do your research before you go.

The Cabin itself was right on the side of the lake, we stopped in the Craigs Cabin which had like an attic area to sleep in. There is no heating/electric so depending on the time of year you come it could be cold and dark. We came just after first frost and we’d camped the night before so it was definitely warmer but still cold.

There was two other cabins there as well as a vault toilet section and a shower that had hot water. You’re not allowed to cook or have a fire directly at the cabin there is a small area where that is allowed.

Everything looked clean and tidy, directions were somewhat easy to follow however there was no one at the outpost when we arrived so found the cabin by ourselves.

I’d definitely come back here again in more favourable conditions, just for the peace and relaxing

We did a Winter adventure trip with friends organized by Voyageur Quest. It was perfectly organized and we had amazing guides. The activities, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, dog sledding, polar bear dip, were excellent. The cabin was quite luxurious and the guides prepared delicious food. We had an amazing time, also for our teenage kids. The head guide Mauricio was outstanding, well informed about nature background facts.

That was one of the best weekends we have had in the past few years. The team was unbelievably helpful. Mauricio, Andrew, Mason, Baris, and Emily made these few days so memorable. |The food was amazing even for the vegetarian guys. They knew how to navigate between the different people in the group and how to get the kids engaged.|Do not give up the polar bear dip!! it is the best

Our 3 generation family of 16 stayed at Voyager Quest cabin for 4 amazing days after Christmas. It was a magical holiday, off the grid retreat filled with lots of winter fun, cozy accommodations, fantastic service and great staff/guides! ||||Barris was a great guide and led our family with various activities ensuring our safety, our fun and educating us along the way. Kiera was a rock star with 8 kids ages 4-12 and quickly earned the title of camp counselor and coach as she made every activity with the kids fun and exciting. Pablo was a super friendly guide who also ensured our family had fun and was entertained. And Paul was great in the kitchen preparing all our meals and offering a diverse menu of food during our stay. ||||We couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend quality time with family in the beautiful Canadian wilderness. It was an experience we won’t forget and has left us with memories for a lifetime! Thank you team Voyager Quest!

What a great vacation on Hondoo Island with three teens! The cottage is spectacular - with lake vistas from every room. Lying in bed at night, you can hear the water lapping on the shore and the loons calling. Rooms are nicely decorated and very lake luxurious. I haven't slept so well in months! The high vaulted ceilings mean you can see the sky from in the cottage which we loved. Perfect for a family or a gang of friends - ample room for everyone to find a cozy place to read. The dining room with screened windows was also the site of a few family board games, one indoor dinner when it was raining and some work calls - internet was perfect for video calls - but this is to be discouraged given the beautiful environment to relax (a few of the rooms have desks - for those wanting to work from home for a week - this is the place to do it - you won't want to return to your bricks and cement views!!) The deck has a couch to curl up on while watching the sunset (if you're not on the dock roasting marshmallows on the fire pit) and we ate as many meals as possible on the large outdoor table, fit with candles and an awning. The sunsets are spectacular. The lake is quiet - people here mostly like the SUP, canoeing and sailing - you are not in the middle of a motor parade at all - only a few jet-skis on the lake; mostly pontoon boats for quiet evening cruising. We appreciate this and it makes it worth the extra hour north of Muskoka. Those who like to fish will love the island as this is where the bass were hanging out when we were there! Literally at the water's edge. Lots of excitement when there was something on the line. Kids used the SUP, kayak, and canoes. They also went for a hike (Moose Mountain - one of many Forgotten Trails Association hikes within 15 minutes of the parking lot where you leave your car) . The trails are well marked. The owners made the floating sauna across the bay available to us which was a bonus. A nice paddle over, jump in the lake and then sweat in the sauna! We had a morning swim every day we were there - swimming from the dock in this lake is divine. The water is clear and clean. The kitchen was very well equipped - home made pizzas, breakfast muffins, BBQs, morning coffees on the dock, and microwave popcorn were on the menu. While we didn't use the washing machine, it was nice to be able to dry the towels in the dryer on the 1 rainy day we had. But the sun and breeze on the lake nicely dried everything on the line most days. We spent most of the time outside enjoying beautiful summer days but decided this would be a fabulous place to gather in the fall to watch the seasons change! Tom Thomson apparently liked to paint on this lake. I'm not surprised. The skies here are expressive and expansive, frequently dotted with herons and hawks! It feels miles and miles from the city. But in reality, its an easy drive straight north from Toronto. Staff are very helpful. Worried about solar power? don't be - if you follow basic conservation rules, you will not notice. All the amenities including the Wifi - worked well. We would rent this place again in a flash, with family or perhaps some friends for an adult get-away weekend. Thanks for making it available to us.
