Generally Trek was good but there were some safety issues (Sherpa took off with my daypack that had my water, also, trekkers were allowed to go ahead without guide or Sherpa). We had a delay in Ramechhapp and alternate Itinerary was not followed. We just had to wait it out. When we asked about a helicopter we were told no. With the weather delay in Lukla, World Expeditions has denied any refund even though in Lukla, our guide confirmed on a call with the Kathmandu Rep that we would be refunded. One night was included in the package, the other night was added on. If they wanted to deduct the cost of the emergency filthy, sub par and I would not say safe accommodation, then deduct that from the first night and refund the second night. Beware when they say they will arrange helicopters for weather delays, in Nepal they go to the highest bidder and their contracts are basically useless. We kept asking for confirmation that we could get a helicopter out but would never receive an answer. Communication since we returned has been very poor.

Update: World Expeditions reached out and agreed to refund one night. As well, feedback was provided to them in an effort to improve on areas of concern. With Climate Change, alternative arrangements have to be put in place when weather causes more than a one day delay. Trekkers need the acclimatization days and need to know that there are reliable alternatives to be able to return to Kathmandu for International Flights. Always look into adding a couple days before or after scheduled expeditions.

My Snowman Trek experience with World Expeditions was great from the first online chat and phone call through the trip wrap up. The guides were top notch and experienced--and also enriched our experience with their knowledge of Bhutanese history, culture, wildlife and specifics on the region. The trip staff who handled the meal prep and camp set up and pack up were true partners, the pre-trip information and guidance was helpful and the logistics were handled seamlessly.

This trek was the most challenging and most amazing outdoor adventure I’ve ever undertaken. Samde, our guide, took such good care of our group of 15 that spanned ages from 23 to 73. He is so kind, pleasant, knowledgeable, encouraging, and caring, and if I ever find myself trekking in Nepal again I would definitely want him as my guide. I must also acknowledge the help I received from Rajan, an assistant guide who helped me immeasurably on the day we crossed the Renjo La and the subsequent longer days of walking. All the guides, cooks, and porters were exceptional and were so attentive to our every need. I cannot say enough good about the whole team from World Expeditions. From being awoken with a cup of hot tea, to being served three amazing, plentiful meals a day, to being handed hot drinks as we came in from a challenging day of trekking, to being brought warm washing water, to carrying not one but two fully loaded duffle bags…they did all this with kindness and caring. The rocky trails were definitely challenging for me and some of the uphill and downhill climbs were arduous for this 67 year old, but Samde knew how to pace the group and provide encouragement so that we all finished the trek happy and healthy. I will remember forever with fondness the day we sang a few songs with Samde as he strummed the guitar at one of our tea house breaks as trekkers and mule trains passed by on the trail. I enjoyed camping in the eco-camps surrounded by beautiful views but I also enjoyed the nights we spent in tea houses. The dining halls at the eco-camps are permanent structures and were all quite comfortable. As the weather got colder in the higher elevations, I was grateful for the warm sleeping bag and down jacket that World Expeditions provides, and even though it got cold overnight I was always warm enough in the tents and unheated teahouse rooms. I was grateful for the relative solitude of the trails after we split off from the main EBC trail. If you are looking to challenge yourself on a Himalayan trek, I highly recommend this Gokyo/Renjo La trek with World Expeditions.

What a trip. Been dreaming of going to Patagonia for many years. It was more than I expected in every way. The coordination of everything was amazing. Our local guides made myself and other travelers at home. Taking care of all xfers, overnight stays and helping on the treks. Very informative on everything we were taking in. I consider them friends and will stay in touch with them.

The Fitzroy/Cerra Torre and W treks in Torres del Paine were bucket list items for me.

More than I expected. Do it if you can.

I had heard about hiking in Japan, staying in local guesthouses and soaking in hot springs after a long hike. We found the perfect hiking trip with World Expeditions. This trip did not disappoint. Japan is such a beautiful country. We happened to be on the Kumano Kodo trail when the cherry blossoms erupted. What a magnificant site. The trail is difficult and not for those who don't enjoy a tough climb or descent. Definitly bring your hiking poles and be ready for rain and wind. That said, it is lined with shrines and beautiful vistas. It was a uniquely beautiful experience. The accommodations are truly Japanese which we had hoped for.. Our hosts were so gracious and the food was beyond belief. If you like an adventure, I would highly recommend this trip. World Expeditions did a great job organizing!

I had an amazingly wonderful time on my World Expeditions vacation to Southern India! The itinerary was super (active, fun, fascinating), the bikes were top-rate, our guide, Francis, did everything possible to help us feel happy, comfortable and as though we were in good hands, the accommodation was far beyond expectations, the food was out-of-this-world, and everywhere we went we were made to feel like visiting dignitaries!

I booked through Stacey in the Ottawa office. She took care of everything for me, right down to getting my preferred seats on the airplanes (Air Qatar - luxurious!).

This is my fourth World Expeditions trip (others were Sikkim-Bhutan, China, and Myanmar), and every one of them has been far better than I had imagined. And they seem to keep getting better! I'll definitely travel with them again.
