As this ecological reserve is open to the public, and gets visits from cyclists and off leash dogs, I'm not sure what the point is. I thought eco reserves were strictly limited access so scientists could compare their flora and fauna to surrounding areas. But if they are just becoming unprotected recreation areas, what is their value?

Lost a shoe to thick mud. Need IV fluids to deal with the mosquito-induced anaemia. Not for the faint of heart!

Dirty. Smelly. Full of terrible bugs. Nothing to see. Saw a creepy man behind a tree, he would not respond to standard greetings.

Not worth the stop.
